- After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.
- But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.
- And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.
- And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?
- For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

- さて， 過越の 祭りと 種なし パン の 祝いが 二日後に 迫っていたので， 祭司長， 律法學者たちは， どうしたら イエス をだまして 捕え， 殺すことができるだろうか， とけんめいであった．
- 彼らは， 「祭りの 間はいけない． 民衆の ¿ぎが 起こるといけないから． 」と 話していた．
- イエス が ベタニヤ で， らい 病人 シモン の 家におられたとき， 食卓についておられると， ひとりの 女が， 純粹で， 非常に 高價な ナルド 油のはいった 石膏のつぼを 持って 來て， そのつぼを 割り， イエス の 頭に 注いだ．
- すると， 何人かの 者が 憤慨して 互いに 言った． 「何のために， 香油をこんなにむだにしたのか．
- この 香油なら， 三百 デナリ 以上に 賣れて， 貧乏な 人たちに 施しができたのに． 」そうして， その 女をきびしく 責めた．

- And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.
- For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.
- She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.
- Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
- And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.

- すると， イエス は 言われた． 「そのままにしておきなさい． なぜこの 人を 困らせるのですか． わたしのために， りっぱなことをしてくれたのです．
- 貧しい 人たちは， いつもあなたがたといっしょにいます． それで， あなたがたがしたいときは， いつでも 彼らに 良いことをしてやれます． しかし， わたしは， いつもあなたがたといっしょにいるわけではありません．
- この 女は， 自分にできることをしたのです． 埋葬の 用意にと， わたしのからだに， 前もって 油を 塗ってくれたのです．
- まことに， あなたがたに 告げます． 世界中のどこででも， 福音が 宣べ 傳えられる 所なら， この 人のした 事も 語られて， この 人の 記念となるでしょう． 」
- ところで， イスカリオテ · ユダ は， 十二弟子のひとりであるが， イエス を 賣ろうとして 祭司長たちのところへ 出向いて 行った．

- And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.
- And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?
- And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.
- And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
- And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.

- 彼らはこれを 聞いて 喜んで， 金をやろうと 約束した． そこで ユダ は， どうしたら， うまいぐあいに イエス を 引き 渡せるかと， ねらっていた．
- 種なし パン の 祝いの 第一日， すなわち， 過越の 小羊をほふる 日に， 弟子たちは イエス に 言った． 「過越の 食事をなさるのに， 私たちは， どこへ 行って 用意をしましょうか． 」
- そこで， イエス は， 弟子のうちふたりを 送って， こう 言われた． 「都にはいりなさい． そうすれば， 水がめを 運んでいる 男に 會うから， その 人について 行きなさい．
- そして， その 人がはいって 行く 家の 主人に， 『弟子たちといっしょに 過越の 食事をする， わたしの 客間はどこか， と 先生が 言っておられる． 』と 言いなさい．
- するとその 主人が 自分で， 席が 整って 用意のできた 二階の 廣間を 見せてくれます． そこでわたしたちのために 用意をしなさい． 」

- And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
- And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.
- And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.
- And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?
- And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.

- 弟子たちが 出かけて 行って， 都にはいると， まさしく イエス の 言われたとおりであった． それで， 彼らはそこで 過越の 食事の 用意をした．
- 夕方になって， イエス は 十二弟子といっしょにそこに 來られた．
- そして， みなが 席に 着いて， 食事をしているとき， イエス は 言われた． 「まことに， あなたがたに 告げます． あなたがたのうちのひとりで， わたしといっしょに 食事をしている 者が， わたしを 裏切ります． 」
- 弟子たちは 悲しくなって， 「まさか 私ではないでしょう． 」とかわるがわる イエス に 言いだした．
- イエス は 言われた． 「この 十二人の 中のひとりで， わたしといっしょに， 同じ 鉢に パン を 浸している 者です．

- The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

- 確かに， 人の 子は， 自分について 書いてあるとおりに， 去って 行きます． しかし， 人の 子を 裏切るような 人間はのろわれます． そういう 人は 生まれなかったほうがよかったのです． 」
