- And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
- And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
- And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
- And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
- And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

- また， アセル 族の パヌエル の 娘で 女預言者の アンナ という 人がいた． この 人は 非常に 年をとっていた． 處女の 時代のあと 七年間， 夫とともに 住み，
- その 後やもめになり， 八十四歲になっていた． そして 宮を 離れず， 夜も ¿も， 斷食と 祈りをもって 神に 仕えていた．
- ちょうどこのとき， 彼女もそこにいて， 神に 感謝をささげ， そして， エルサレム の ·いを 待ち 望んでいるすべての 人¿に， この 幼子のことを 語った．
- さて， 彼らは 主の 律法による 定めをすべて 果たしたので， ガリラヤ の 自分たちの 町 ナザレ に 歸った．
- 幼子は 成長し， 强くなり， 知惠に 滿ちて 行った． 神の 惠みがその 上にあった．

- Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
- And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
- And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
- But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
- And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

- さて， イエス の 兩親は， 過越の 祭りには 每年 エルサレム に 行った．
- イエス が 十二歲になられたときも， 兩親は 祭りの 慣習に 從って 都へ 上り，
- 祭りの 期間を 過ごしてから， 歸路についたが， 少年 イエス は エルサレム にとどまっておられた． 兩親はそれに 氣づかなかった．
- イエス が 一行の 中にいるものと 思って， 一日の 道のりを 行った． それから， 親族や 知人の 中を 搜し 回ったが，
- 見つからなかったので， イエス を 搜しながら， エルサレム まで 引き 返した．

- And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
- And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
- And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
- And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
- And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

- そしてようやく 三日の 後に， イエス が 宮で 敎師たちの 眞中にすわって， 話を 聞いたり 質問したりしておられるのを 見つけた．
- 聞いていた 人¿はみな， イエス の 知惠と 答えに 驚いていた．
- 兩親は 彼を 見て 驚き， 母は 言った． 「まあ， あなたはなぜ 私たちにこんなことをしたのです． 見なさい． 父上も 私も， 心配してあなたを 搜し 回っていたのです． 」
- すると イエス は 兩親に 言われた． 「どうしてわたしをお 搜しになったのですか． わたしが 必ず 自分の 父の 家にいることを， ご 存じなかったのですか． 」
- しかし 兩親には， イエス の 話されたことばの 意味がわからなかった．

- And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
- And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

- それから イエス は， いっしょに 下って 行かれ， ナザレ に 歸って， 兩親に 仕えられた． 母はこれらのことをみな， 心に 留めておいた．
- イエス はますます 知惠が 進み， 背たけも 大きくなり， 神と 人とに 愛された．
