- And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
- He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
- And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
- And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
- But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

- すると， ある 律法の 專門家が 立ち 上がり， イエス をためそうとして 言った． 「先生． 何をしたら 永遠のいのちを 自分のものとして 受けることができるでしょうか． 」
- イエス は 言われた． 「律法には， 何と 書いてありますか． あなたはどう 讀んでいますか． 」
- すると 彼は 答えて 言った． 「『心を 盡くし， 思いを 盡くし， 力を 盡くし， 知性を 盡くして， あなたの 神である 主を 愛せよ． 』また『あなたの 隣人をあなた 自身のように 愛せよ． 』とあります． 」
- イエス は 言われた． 「そのとおりです． それを 實行しなさい． そうすれば， いのちを 得ます． 」
- しかし 彼は， 自分の 正しさを 示そうとして イエス に 言った． 「では， 私の 隣人とは， だれのことですか． 」

- And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
- And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
- And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
- But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
- And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

- イエス は 答えて 言われた． 「ある 人が， エルサレム から エリコ へ 下る 道で， 强盜に 襲われた． 强盜どもは， その 人の 着物をはぎとり， なぐりつけ， 半殺しにして 逃げて 行った．
- たまたま， 祭司がひとり， その 道を 下って 來たが， 彼を 見ると， 反對側を 通り 過ぎて 行った．
- 同じように レビ 人も， その 場所に 來て 彼を 見ると， 反對側を 通り 過ぎて 行った．
- ところが， ある サマリヤ 人が， 旅の 途中， そこに 來合わせ， 彼を 見てかわいそうに 思い，
- 近寄って 傷に オリ ― ブ 油とぶどう 酒を 注いで， ほうたいをし， 自分の 家畜に 乘せて 宿屋に 連れて 行き， 介抱してやった．

- And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
- Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
- And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

- 次の 日， 彼は デナリ 二つを 取り 出し， 宿屋の 主人に 渡して 言った． 『介抱してあげてください． もっと 費用がかかったら， 私が 歸りに 拂います． 』
- この 三人の 中でだれが， 强盜に 襲われた 者の 隣人になったと 思いますか． 」
- 彼は 言った． 「その 人にあわれみをかけてやった 人です． 」すると イエス は 言われた． 「あなたも 行って 同じようにしなさい． 」
