- Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
- But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
- For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
- For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
- They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.

- まことに 神は， イスラエル に， 心のきよい 人たちに， いつくしみ 深い．
- しかし， 私自身は， この 足がたわみそうで， 私の 步みは， すべるばかりだった．
- それは， 私が 誇り 高ぶる 者をねたみ， 惡者の 榮えるのを 見たからである．
- 彼らの 死には， 苦痛がなく， 彼らのからだは， あぶらぎっているからだ．
- 人¿が 苦勞するとき， 彼らはそうではなく， ほかの 人のようには 打たれない．

- Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
- Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
- They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
- They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
- Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

- それゆえ， 高慢が 彼らの 首飾りとなり， 暴虐の 着物が 彼らをおおっている．
- 彼らの 目は 脂肪でふくらみ， 心の 思いはあふれ 出る．
- 彼らはあざけり， 惡意をもって 語り， 高い 所からしいたげを 告げる．
- 彼らはその 口を 天にすえ， その 舌は 地を 行き 巡る．
- それゆえ， その 民は， ここに 歸り， 豊かな 水は， 彼らによって 飮み 干された．

- And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
- Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.
- Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.
- For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

- こうして 彼らは 言う． 「どうして 神が 知ろうか． いと 高き 方に 知識があろうか． 」
- 見よ． 惡者とは， このようなものだ． 彼らはいつまでも 安らかで， 富を 增している．
- 確かに 私は， むなしく 心をきよめ， 手を 洗って， きよくしたのだ．
- 私は 一日中打たれどおしで， 朝ごとに 責められた．
