- For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works.
- Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.
- When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God.
- And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.
- Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.

- このすべてのことにもかかわらず， 彼らはなおも 罪を 犯し， 神の 奇しいわざを 信じなかった．
- それで 神は， 彼らの 日をひと 息のうちに， 彼らの 齡を， 突然の 恐怖のうちに， 終わらせた．
- 神が 彼らを 殺されると， 彼らは 神を 尋ね 求め， 立ち 返って， 神を 切に 求めた．
- 彼らは， 神が 自分たちの 岩であり， いと 高き 神が 自分たちを ·う 方であることを 思い 出した．
- しかしまた 彼らは， その 口で 神を 欺き， その 舌で 神に 僞りを 言った．

- For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant.
- But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.
- For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.
- How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert!
- Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.

- しかし， あわれみ 深い 神は， 彼らの 咎を 赦して， 滅ぼさず， 幾度も 怒りを 押え， 憤りのすべてをかき 立てられはしなかった．
- 神は， 彼らが 肉にすぎず， 吹き 去れば， 返って 來ない 風であることを 心に 留めてくださった．
- 幾たび 彼らは， 荒野で 神に 逆らい， 荒れ 地で 神を 悲しませたことか．
- 彼らはくり 返して， 神を 試み， イスラエル の 聖なる 方を 痛めた．
