- Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
- And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
- And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
- Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
- Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

- そこで， ピラト は イエス を 捕えて， むち 打ちにした．
- また， 兵士たちは， いばらで 冠を 編んで， イエス の 頭にかぶらせ， 紫色の 着物を 着せた．
- 彼らは， イエス に 近寄っては， 「ユダヤ 人の 王さま． ばんざい． 」と 言い， また イエス の 顔を 平手で 打った．
- ピラト は， もう 一度外に 出て 來て， 彼らに 言った． 「よく 聞きなさい． あなたがたのところにあの 人を 連れ 出して 來ます． あの 人に 何の 罪も 見られないということを， あなたがたに 知らせるためです． 」
- それで イエス は， いばらの 冠と 紫色の 着物を 着けて， 出て 來られた． すると ピラト は 彼らに「さあ， この 人です． 」と 言った．

- When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
- The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
- When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
- And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.
- Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?

- 祭司長たちや 役人たちは イエス を 見ると， 激しく 叫んで， 「十字架につけろ． 十字架につけろ． 」と 言った． ピラト は 彼らに 言った． 「あなたがたがこの 人を 引き 取り， 十字架につけなさい． 私はこの 人には 罪を 認めません． 」
- ユダヤ 人たちは 彼に 答えた． 「私たちには 律法があります． この 人は 自分を 神の 子としたのですから， 律法によれば， 死に 當たります． 」
- ピラト は， このことばを 聞くと， ますます 恐れた．
- そして， また 官邸にはいって， イエス に 言った． 「あなたはどこの 人ですか． 」しかし， イエス は 彼に 何の 答えもされなかった．
- そこで， ピラト は イエス に 言った． 「あなたは 私に 話さないのですか． 私にはあなたを 釋放する 權威があり， また 十字架につける 權威があることを， 知らないのですか． 」

- Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.
- And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
- When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
- And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
- But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

- イエス は 答えられた． 「もしそれが 上から 與えられているのでなかったら， あなたにはわたしに 對して 何の 權威もありません． ですから， わたしをあなたに 渡した 者に， もっと 大きい 罪があるのです． 」
- こういうわけで， ピラト は イエス を 釋放しようと 努力した． しかし， ユダヤ 人たちは 激しく 叫んで 言った． 「もしこの 人を 釋放するなら， あなたは カイザル の 味方ではありません． 自分を 王だとする 者はすべて， カイザル にそむくのです． 」
- そこで ピラト は， これらのことばを 聞いたとき， イエス を 外に 引き 出し， 敷石（ヘブル 語で ガバタ ）と 呼ばれる 場所で， 裁判の 席に 着いた．
- その 日は 過越の 備え 日で， 時は 六時ごろであった． ピラト は ユダヤ 人たちに 言った． 「さあ， あなたがたの 王です． 」
- 彼らは 激しく 叫んだ． 「除け． 除け． 十字架につけろ． 」 ピラト は 彼らに 言った． 「あなたがたの 王を 私が 十字架につけるのですか． 」祭司長たちは 答えた． 「カイザル のほかには， 私たちに 王はありません． 」

- Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
