사무엘하 10:1-11:27

 암몬 왕 나하스가 죽자 다윗은 그가 베푼 은혜를 갚기 위해 조문 사절을 보냈으나, 이를 오해한 암몬은 그들을 모욕해서 돌려보냈다. 다윗은 군사를 보내 암몬과 아람을 정벌했다. 전시에 왕궁에 머무르던 다윗은 우리아의 아내 밧세바를 범하고 이것을 은폐하기 위해 우리아를 죽이는 죄를 범했다.
  
  암몬 정벌(10:1-10:19)    
 
  1. And it came to pass after this, that the king of the children of Ammon died, and Hanun his son reigned in his stead.
  2. Then said David, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father shewed kindness unto me. And David sent to comfort him by the hand of his servants for his father. And David's servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.
  3. And the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? hath not David rather sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?
  4. Wherefore Hanun took David's servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away.
  5. When they told it unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed: and the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.

  1. And when the children of Ammon saw that they stank before David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Bethrehob and the Syrians of Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and of king Maacah a thousand men, and of Ishtob twelve thousand men.
  2. And when David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the host of the mighty men.
  3. And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entering in of the gate: and the Syrians of Zoba, and of Rehob, and Ishtob, and Maacah, were by themselves in the field.
  4. When Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians:
  5. And the rest of the people he delivered into the hand of Abishai his brother, that he might put them in array against the children of Ammon.
  1. アモン 人は， 自分たちが ダビデ に 憎まれるようになったのを 見て 取った． そこで アモン 人は 使いをやって， ベテ · レホブ の アラム と ツォバ の アラム の 步兵二万， マアカ の 王の 兵士一千， トブ の 兵士一万二千を 雇った．
  2. ダビデ はこれを 聞き， ヨアブ と 勇士たちの 全軍を 送った．
  3. アモン 人は 出て， 門の 入口に 戰いの 備えをした． ツォバ と レホブ の アラム および トブ と マアカ の 人たちは， 別に 野にいた．
  4. ヨアブ は， 彼の 前とうしろに 戰いの 前面があるのを 見て， イスラエル の 精銳全員からさらに 兵を 選び， アラム に 立ち 向かう 陣ぞなえをし，

  1. And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon be too strong for thee, then I will come and help thee.
  2. Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth him good.
  3. And Joab drew nigh, and the people that were with him, unto the battle against the Syrians: and they fled before him.
  4. And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, then fled they also before Abishai, and entered into the city. So Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.
  5. And when the Syrians saw that they were smitten before Israel, they gathered themselves together.
  1. ヨアブ は 言った． 「もし， アラム が 私より 强ければ， おまえが 私を 救ってくれ． もし， アモン 人がおまえより 强かったら， 私がおまえを 救いに 行こう．
  2. 强くあれ． われわれの 民のため， われわれの 神の 町¿のために 全力を 盡くそう． 主はみこころにかなうことをされる． 」
  3. ヨアブ と 彼の 部下の 兵士たちが アラム と 戰おうとして 近づいたとき， アラム は 彼の 前から 逃げた．
  4. アモン 人は アラム が 逃げるのを 見て， アビシャイ の 前から 逃げて， 町にはいり ¿んだ． そこで ヨアブ は アモン 人を 打つのをやめて， エルサレム に 歸った．
  5. アラム は， 自分たちが イスラエル に 打ち 負かされたのを 見て 團結した．
  1. And Hadarezer sent, and brought out the Syrians that were beyond the river: and they came to Helam; and Shobach the captain of the host of Hadarezer went before them.
  2. And when it was told David, he gathered all Israel together, and passed over Jordan, and came to Helam. And the Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought with him.
  3. And the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew the men of seven hundred chariots of the Syrians, and forty thousand horsemen, and smote Shobach the captain of their host, who died there.
  4. And when all the kings that were servants to Hadarezer saw that they were smitten before Israel, they made peace with Israel, and served them. So the Syrians feared to help the children of Ammon any more.
  1. ハダデエゼル は 使いを 送り， 川向こうの アラム を 連れ 出したので， 彼らは ヘラム に 來た． ハダデエゼル の 將軍 ショバク が 彼らを 率いていた．

  1. And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.
  2. And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.
  3. And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?
  4. And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.
  5. And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child.
  1. 年が 改まり， 王たちが 出陣するころ， ダビデ は， ヨアブ と 自分の 家來たちと イスラエル の 全軍とを 戰いに 出した． 彼らは アモン 人を 滅ぼし， ラバ を 包圍した． しかし ダビデ は エルサレム にとどまっていた．
  2. ある 夕暮れ 時， ダビデ は 床から 起き 上がり， 王宮の 屋上を 步いていると， ひとりの 女が， からだを 洗っているのが 屋上から 見えた． その 女は 非常に 美しかった．

  5. 女はみごもったので， ダビデ に 人をやって， 告げて 言った． 「私はみごもりました． 」
  1. And David sent to Joab, saying, Send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David.
  2. And when Uriah was come unto him, David demanded of him how Joab did, and how the people did, and how the war prospered.
  3. And David said to Uriah, Go down to thy house, and wash thy feet. And Uriah departed out of the king's house, and there followed him a mess of meat from the king.
  4. But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his lord, and went not down to his house.
  5. And when they had told David, saying, Uriah went not down unto his house, David said unto Uriah, Camest thou not from thy journey? why then didst thou not go down unto thine house?
  1. ダビデ は ヨアブ のところに 人をやって， 「ヘテ 人 ウリヤ を 私のところに 送れ． 」と 言わせた． それで ヨアブ は ウリヤ を ダビデ のところに 送った．
  2. ウリヤ が 彼のところにはいって 來ると， ダビデ は， ヨアブ は 無事でいるか， 兵士たちも 變わりないか， 戰いもうまくいっているか， と 尋ねた．
  3. それから ダビデ は ウリヤ に 言った． 「家に 歸って， あなたの 足を 洗いなさい． 」 ウリヤ が 王宮から 出て 行くと， 王からの 贈り 物が 彼のあとに 續いた．
  4. しかし ウリヤ は， 王宮の 門のあたりで， 自分の 主君の 家來たちみなといっしょに 眠り， 自分の 家には 歸らなかった．
  5. ダビデ は， ウリヤ が 自分の 家には 歸らなかった， という 知らせを 聞いて， ウリヤ に 言った． 「あなたは 遠征して 來たのではないか． なぜ， 自分の 家に 歸らなかったのか． 」
  1. And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing.
  2. And David said to Uriah, Tarry here to day also, and to morrow I will let thee depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow.
  3. And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.
  4. And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah.
  5. And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.
  1. ウリヤ は ダビデ に 言った． 「神の 箱も， イスラエル も， ユダ も 假庵に 住み， 私の 主人 ヨアブ も， 私の 主人の 家來たちも 戰場で 野營しています． それなのに， 私だけが 家に 歸り， 飮み 食いして， 妻と 寢ることができましょうか． あなたの 前に， あなたのたましいの 前に 誓います． 私は 決してそのようなことをいたしません． 」
  2. ダビデ は ウリヤ に 言った． 「では， きょうもここにとどまるがよい． あすになったらあなたを 送り 出そう． 」それで ウリヤ はその 日と 翌日 エルサレム にとどまることになった．
  3. ダビデ は 彼を 招いて， 自分の 前で 食べたり 飮んだりさせ， 彼を 醉わせた． 夕方， ウリヤ は 出て 行って， 自分の 主君の 家來たちといっしょに 自分の 寢床で 寢た． そして 自分の 家には 行かなかった．
  4. 朝になって， ダビデ は ヨアブ に 手紙を 書き， ウリヤ に 持たせた．
  5. その 手紙にはこう 書かれてあった． 「ウリヤ を 激戰の 眞正面に 出し， 彼を 殘してあなたがたは 退き， 彼が 打たれて 死ぬようにせよ． 」
  1. And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were.
  2. And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.
  3. Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war;
  4. And charged the messenger, saying, When thou hast made an end of telling the matters of the war unto the king,
  5. And if so be that the king's wrath arise, and he say unto thee, Wherefore approached ye so nigh unto the city when ye did fight? knew ye not that they would shoot from the wall?
  1. ヨアブ は 町を 見張っていたので， その 町の 力ある 者たちがいると 知っていた 場所に， ウリヤ を 配置した．
  2. その 町の 者が 出て 來て ヨアブ と 戰ったとき， 民のうち ダビデ の 家來たちが 倒れ， ヘテ 人 ウリヤ も 戰死した．
  3. そこで ヨアブ は， 使いを 送って 戰いの 一部始終を ダビデ に 報告するとき，
  4. 使者に 命じて 言った． 「戰いの 一部始終を 王に 報告し 終わったとき，
  5. もし 王が 怒りを 發して， おまえに『なぜ， あなたがたはそんなに 町に 近づいて 戰ったのか． 城壁の 上から 彼らが 射かけてくるのを 知らなかったのか．
  1. Who smote Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? did not a woman cast a piece of a millstone upon him from the wall, that he died in Thebez? why went ye nigh the wall? then say thou, Thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.
  2. So the messenger went, and came and shewed David all that Joab had sent him for.
  3. And the messenger said unto David, Surely the men prevailed against us, and came out unto us into the field, and we were upon them even unto the entering of the gate.
  4. And the shooters shot from off the wall upon thy servants; and some of the king's servants be dead, and thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.
  5. Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth one as well as another: make thy battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage thou him.
  1. エルベシェテ の 子 アビメレク を 打ち 殺したのはだれであったか． ひとりの 女が 城壁の 上からひき 臼の 上石を 投げつけて， テベツ で 彼を 殺したのではなかったか． なぜ， そんなに 城壁に 近づいたのか． 』と 言われたら， 『あなたの 家來， ヘテ 人 ウリヤ も 死にました． 』と 言いなさい． 」
  2. こうして 使者は 出かけ， ダビデ のところに 來て， ヨアブ の 傳言をすべて 傳えた．
  3. 使者は ダビデ に 言った． 「敵は 私たちより 優勢で， 私たちに 向かって 野に 出て 來ましたが， 私たちは 門の 入口まで 彼らを 攻めて 行きました．
  4. すると 城壁の 上から 射手たちが， あなたの 家來たちに 矢を 射かけ， 王の 家來たちが 死に， あなたの 家來， ヘテ 人 ウリヤ も 死にました． 」
  5. ダビデ は 使者に 言った． 「あなたは ヨアブ にこう 言わなければならない． 『このことで 心配するな． 劍はこちらの 者も， あちらの 者も 滅ぼすものだ． あなたは 町をいっそう 激しく 攻擊して， それを 全滅せよ． 』あなたは， 彼を 力づけなさい． 」
  1. And when the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she mourned for her husband.
  2. And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.
  1. ウリヤ の 妻は， 夫 ウリヤ が 死んだことを 聞いて， 夫のためにいたみ 悲しんだ．
  2. 喪が 明けると， ダビデ は 人をやり， 彼女を 自分の 家に 迎え 入れた． 彼女は 彼の 妻となり， 男の 子を 生んだ． しかし， ダビデ の 行なったことは 主のみこころをそこなった．
