- And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,
- Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
- And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.
- Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
- And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,

- 彼らが 民に 話していると， 祭司たち， 宮の 守衛長， また サドカイ 人たちがやって 來たが，
- この 人たちは， ペテロ と ヨハネ が 民を 敎え， イエス のことを 例にあげて 死者の 復活を 宣べ 傳えているのに， 困り 果て，
- 彼らに 手をかけて 捕えた． そして 翌日まで 留置することにした． すでに 夕方だったからである．
- しかし， みことばを 聞いた 人¿が 大ぜい 信じ， 男の 數が 五千人ほどになった．
- 翌日， 民の 指導者， 長老， 學者たちは， エルサレム に 集まった．

- And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
- And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
- Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
- If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
- Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

- 大祭司 アンナス ， カヤパ ， ヨハネ ， アレキサンデル ， そのほか 大祭司の 一族もみな 出席した．
- 彼らは 使徒たちを 眞中に 立たせて， 「あなたがたは 何の 權威によって， また， だれの 名によってこんなことをしたのか． 」と 尋問しだした．
- そのとき， ペテロ は 聖靈に 滿たされて， 彼らに 言った． 「民の 指導者たち， ならびに 長老の 方¿．
- 私たちがきょう 取り 調べられているのが， 病人に 行なった 良いわざについてであり， その 人が 何によっていやされたか， ということのためであるなら，
- 皆さんも， また イスラエル のすべての 人¿も， よく 知ってください． この 人が 直って， あなたがたの 前に 立っているのは， あなたがたが 十字架につけ， 神が 死者の 中からよみがえらせた ナザレ 人 イエス · キリスト の 御名によるのです．

- This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
- Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
- Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
- And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
- But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,

- 『あなたがた 家を 建てる 者たちに 捨てられた 石が， 礎の 石となった． 』というのはこの 方のことです．
- この 方以外には， だれによっても 救いはありません． 世界中でこの 御名のほかには， 私たちが 救われるべき 名としては， どのような 名も， 人間に 與えられていないからです． 」
- 彼らは ペテロ と ヨハネ との 大膽さを 見， またふたりが 無學な， 普通の 人であるのを 知って 驚いたが， ふたりが イエス とともにいたのだ， ということがわかって 來た．
- そればかりでなく， いやされた 人がふたりといっしょに 立っているのを 見ては， 返すことばもなかった．
- 彼らはふたりに 議會から 退場するように 命じ， そして 互いに 協議した．

- Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
- But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
- And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
- But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
- For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

- 彼らは 言った． 「あの 人たちをどうしよう． あの 人たちによって 著しいしるしが 行なわれたことは， エルサレム の 住民全部に 知れ 渡っているから， われわれはそれを 否定できない．
- しかし， これ 以上民の 間に 廣がらないために， 今後だれにもこの 名によって 語ってはならないと， 彼らをきびしく 戒めよう． 」
- そこで 彼らを 呼んで， いっさい イエス の 名によって 語ったり 敎えたりしてはならない， と 命じた．
- ペテロ と ヨハネ は 彼らに 答えて 言った． 「神に 聞き 從うより， あなたがたに 聞き 從うほうが， 神の 前に 正しいかどうか， 判斷してください．
- 私たちは， 自分の 見たこと， また 聞いたことを， 話さないわけにはいきません． 」

- So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.
- For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.
- And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.
- And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
- Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?

- そこで， 彼らはふたりをさらにおどしたうえで， 釋放した． それはみなの 者が， この 出來事のゆえに 神をあがめていたので， 人¿の 手前， ふたりを 罰するすべがなかったからである．
- この 奇蹟によっていやされた 男は 四十歲余りであった．
- 釋放されたふたりは， 仲間のところへ 行き， 祭司長たちや 長老たちが 彼らに 言ったことを 殘らず 報告した．
- これを 聞いた 人¿はみな， 心を 一つにして， 神に 向かい， 聲を 上げて 言った． 「主よ． あなたは 天と 地と 海とその 中のすべてのものを 造られた 方です．
- あなたは， 聖靈によって， あなたのしもべであり 私たちの 先祖である ダビデ の 口を 通して， こう 言われました． 『なぜ 異邦人たちは ¿ぎ 立ち， もろもろの 民はむなしいことを 計るのか．

- The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
- For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
- For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.
- And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
- By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

- 地の 王たちは 立ち 上がり， 指導者たちは， 主と キリスト に 反抗して， 一つに 組んだ． 』
- 事實， ヘロデ と ポンテオ · ピラト は， 異邦人や イスラエル の 民といっしょに， あなたが 油を 注がれた， あなたの 聖なるしもべ イエス に 逆らってこの 都に 集まり，
- あなたの 御手とみこころによって， あらかじめお 定めになったことを 行ないました．
- 主よ． いま 彼らの 脅かしをご 覽になり， あなたのしもべたちにみことばを 大膽に 語らせてください．
- 御手を 伸ばしていやしを 行なわせ， あなたの 聖なるしもべ イエス の 御名によって， しるしと 不思議なわざを 行なわせてください． 」

- And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

- 彼らがこう 祈ると， その 集まっていた 場所が 震い 動き， 一同は 聖靈に 滿たされ， 神のことばを 大膽に 語りだした．
