- If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
- If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
- Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
- Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
- My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

- もし， その 子孫がわたしのおしえを 捨て， わたしの 定めのうちを 步かないならば，
- また， もし 彼らがわたしのおきてを 破り， わたしの 命令を 守らないならば，
- わたしは 杖をもって， 彼らのそむきの 罪を， むちをもって， 彼らの 咎を 罰しよう．
- しかし， わたしは 惠みを 彼からもぎ 取らず， わたしの 眞實を 僞らない．
- わたしは， わたしの 契約を 破らない． くちびるから 出たことを， わたしは 變えない．
