- And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
- And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
- Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
- Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
- And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

- ところが， 主の 使いが ピリポ に 向かってこう 言った． 「立って 南へ 行き， エルサレム から ガザ に 下る 道に 出なさい． 」（この ガザ は 今， 荒れ 果てている． ）
- そこで， 彼は 立って 出かけた． すると， そこに， エチオピヤ 人の 女王 カンダケ の 高官で， 女王の 財産全部を 管理していた 宦官の エチオピヤ 人がいた． 彼は 禮拜のため エルサレム に 上り，
- いま 歸る 途中であった． 彼は 馬車に 乘って， 預言者 イザヤ の 書を 讀んでいた．
- 御靈が ピリポ に「近寄って， あの 馬車といっしょに 行きなさい． 」と 言われた．
- そこで ピリポ が 走って 行くと， 預言者 イザヤ の 書を 讀んでいるのが 聞こえたので， 「あなたは， 讀んでいることが， わかりますか． 」と 言った．

- And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
- The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
- In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
- And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
- Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

- すると， その 人は， 「導く 人がなければ， どうしてわかりましょう． 」と 言った． そして 馬車に 乘っていっしょにすわるように， ピリポ に 賴んだ．
- 彼が 讀んでいた 聖書の 個所には， こう 書いてあった． 「ほふり 場に 連れて 行かれる 羊のように， また， 默¿として 毛を 刈る 者の 前に 立つ 小羊のように， 彼は 口を 開かなかった．
- 彼は， 卑しめられ， そのさばきも 取り 上げられた． 彼の 時代のことを， だれが 話すことができようか． 彼のいのちは 地上から 取り 去られたのである． 」
- 宦官は ピリポ に 向かって 言った． 「預言者はだれについて， こう 言っているのですか． どうか 敎えてください． 自分についてですか． それとも， だれかほかの 人についてですか． 」
- ピリポ は 口を 開き， この 聖句から 始めて， イエス のことを 彼に 宣べ 傳えた．

- And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
- And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
- And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
- And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
- But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.

- 道を 進んで 行くうちに， 水のある 所に 來たので， 宦官は 言った． 「ご 覽なさい． 水があります． 私が バプテスマ を 受けるのに， 何かさしつかえがあるでしょうか． 」
- ［本節欠如 ］
- そして 馬車を 止めさせ， ピリポ も 宦官も 水の 中へ 降りて 行き， ピリポ は 宦官に バプテスマ を 授けた．
- 水から 上がって 來たとき， 主の 靈が ピリポ を 連れ 去られたので， 宦官はそれから 後彼を 見なかったが， 喜びながら 歸って 行った．
- それから ピリポ は アゾト に 現われ， すべての 町¿を 通って 福音を 宣べ 傳え， カイザリヤ に 行った．
