- Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
- Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.
- Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
- And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.
- And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

- それから パウロ は デルベ に， 次いで ルステラ に 行った． そこに テモテ という 弟子がいた． 信者である ユダヤ 婦人の 子で， ギリシヤ 人を 父としていたが，
- ルステラ と イコニオム との 兄弟たちの 間で 評判の 良い 人であった．
- パウロ は， この テモテ を 連れて 行きたかったので， その 地方にいる ユダヤ 人の 手前， 彼に 割禮を 受けさせた． 彼の 父が ギリシヤ 人であることを， みなが 知っていたからである．
- さて， 彼らは 町¿を 巡回して， エルサレム の 使徒たちと 長老たちが 決めた 規定を 守らせようと， 人¿にそれを 傳えた．
- こうして 諸敎會は， その 信仰を 强められ， 日ごとに 人數を 增して 行った．

- Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
- After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.
- And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
- And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
- And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

- それから 彼らは， アジヤ でみことばを 語ることを 聖靈によって 禁じられたので， フルギヤ · ガラテヤ の 地方を 通った．
- こうして ムシヤ に 面した 所に 來たとき， ビテニヤ のほうに 行こうとしたが， イエス の 御靈がそれをお 許しにならなかった．
- それで ムシヤ を 通って， トロアス に 下った．
- ある 夜， パウロ は 幻を 見た． ひとりの マケドニヤ 人が 彼の 前に 立って， 「マケドニヤ に 渡って 來て， 私たちを 助けてください． 」と 懇願するのであった．
- パウロ がこの 幻を 見たとき， 私たちはただちに マケドニヤ に 出かけることにした． 神が 私たちを 招いて， 彼らに 福音を 宣べさせるのだ， と 確信したからである．

- Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;
- And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.
- And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
- And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
- And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

- そこで， 私たちは トロアス から 船に 乘り， サモトラケ に 直航して， 翌日 ネアポリス に 着いた．
- それから ピリピ に 行ったが， ここは マケドニヤ のこの 地方第一の 町で， 植民都市であった． 私たちはこの 町に 幾日か 滯在した．
- 安息日に， 私たちは 町の 門を 出て， 祈り 場があると 思われた 川岸に 行き， そこに 腰をおろして， 集まった 女たちに 話した．
- テアテラ 市の 紫布の 商人で， 神を 敬う， ルデヤ という 女が 聞いていたが， 主は 彼女の 心を 開いて， パウロ の 語る 事に 心を 留めるようにされた．
- そして， 彼女も， またその 家族も バプテスマ を 受けたとき， 彼女は， 「私を 主に 忠實な 者とお 思いでしたら， どうか， 私の 家に 來てお 泊まりください． 」と 言って 賴み， 强いてそうさせた．
