- He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
- Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
- And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
- Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
- When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.

- その 契約は アブラハム と 結んだもの， イサク への 誓い．
- 主は ヤコブ のためにそれをおきてとして 立て， イスラエル に 對する 永遠の 契約とされた．
- そのとき 主は 仰せられた． 「わたしはあなたがたの 相續地としてあなたに， カナン の 地を 與える． 」
- そのころ 彼らの 數は 少なかった． まことにわずかで， そのうえそこでは， 寄留の 他國人であった．
