욥기

  본서는 공의로운 하나님께서 불의를 방관하신 이유와 의로운 자가 고난받는 원인이 무엇인지를 밝혀 주며, 고난을 통하여 하나님을 더욱 의지해야 한다는 것을 보여 주고 있다. 특히 하나님, 인간, 창조, 사단, 죄, 의, 고난, 정의, 회개, 믿음의 개념을 성경적으로 올바르게 정리하는 데 공헌하고 있다.

  본서는 서론인 1, 2장과 본론인 3:1 - 42:6, 그리고 결론인 42:7-17로 명확하게 구분되어 있으며 상호 논리적 필연성으로 연결되어 있다. 즉 서론은 문제의 발단을 기록하고 있으며, 본론은 욥이 당한 고난에 대하여 욥과 친구들의 변론 및 하나님의 메시지를 통하여 다양하게 해석하고 있고, 결론은 하나님의 은혜로 모든 것이 회복된 상황을 보여주고 있다.

 

 

욥기 1:1-3:26

 욥은 순전하고 정직하여 하나님을 경외하며 악에서 떠난 자였다. 그러나 사단의 참소로 인해 욥은 그의 모든 소유물들과 자녀들을 잃고 온몸에 악창이 생겼다. 그렇지만 욥은 하나님께 입술로 범죄하지 않았으며, 이 소식을 듣고 찾아온 친구 엘리바스, 빌닷, 소발은 욥의 상태를 보고 7일 동안 말을 걸지 못하였다. 절망한 욥은 자신의 생일을 저주하였다.
  
  사단의 시험(1:1-1:22)    
 
  1. There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.
  2. And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.
  3. His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.
  4. And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.
  5. And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.
  1. ウツ の 地に ヨブ という 名の 人がいた． この 人は 潔白で 正しく， 神を 恐れ， 惡から 遠ざかっていた．
  2. 彼には 七人の 息子と 三人の 娘が 生まれた．
  3. 彼は 羊七千頭， らくだ 三千頭， 牛五百くびき， 雌ろば 五百頭， それに 非常に 多くのしもべを 持っていた． それでこの 人は 東の 人¿の 中で 一番の 富豪であった．
  4. 彼の 息子たちは 互いに 行き 來し， それぞれ 自分の 日に， その 家で 祝宴を 開き， 人をやって 彼らの 三人の 姉妹も 招き， 彼らといっしょに 飮み 食いするのを 常としていた．
  5. こうして 祝宴の 日が 一巡すると， ヨブ は 彼らを 呼び 寄せ， 聖別することにしていた． 彼は 翌朝早く， 彼らひとりひとりのために， それぞれの 全燒のいけにえをささげた． ヨブ は， 「私の 息子たちが， あるいは 罪を 犯し， 心の 中で 神をのろったかもしれない． 」と 思ったからである． ヨブ はいつもこのようにしていた．
  1. Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
  2. And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
  3. And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
  4. Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
  5. Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
  1. ある 日， 神の 子らが 主の 前に 來て 立ったとき， サタン も 來てその 中にいた．
  2. 主は サタン に 仰せられた． 「おまえはどこから 來たのか． 」 サタン は 主に 答えて 言った． 「地を 行き 巡り， そこを 步き 回って 來ました． 」
  3. 主は サタン に 仰せられた． 「おまえはわたしのしもべ ヨブ に 心を 留めたか． 彼のように 潔白で 正しく， 神を 恐れ， 惡から 遠ざかっている 者はひとりも 地上にはいないのだが． 」
  4. サタン は 主に 答えて 言った． 「ヨブ はいたずらに 神を 恐れましょうか．
  5. あなたは 彼と， その 家とそのすべての 持ち 物との 回りに， 垣を 巡らしたではありませんか． あなたが 彼の 手のわざを 祝福されたので， 彼の 家畜は 地にふえ 廣がっています．
  1. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
  2. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
  3. And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:
  4. And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:
  5. And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
  1. しかし， あなたの 手を 伸べ， 彼のすべての 持ち 物を 打ってください． 彼はきっと， あなたに 向かってのろうに 違いありません． 」
  2. 主は サタン に 仰せられた． 「では， 彼のすべての 持ち 物をおまえの 手に 任せよう． ただ 彼の 身に 手を 伸ばしてはならない． 」そこで， サタン は 主の 前から 出て 行った．
  3. ある 日， 彼の 息子， 娘たちが， 一番上の 兄の 家で 食事をしたり， ぶどう 酒を 飮んだりしていたとき，
  4. 使いが ヨブ のところに 來て 言った． 「牛が 耕し， そのそばで， ろばが 草を 食べていましたが，
  5. シェバ 人が 襲いかかり， これを 奪い， 若い 者たちを 劍の 刃で 打ち 殺しました． 私ひとりだけがのがれて， お 知らせするのです． 」
  1. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
  2. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
  3. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:
  4. And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
  5. Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
  1. この 者がまだ 話している 間に， 他のひとりが 來て 言った． 「神の 火が 天から 下り， 羊と 若い 者たちを 燒き 盡くしました． 私ひとりだけがのがれて， お 知らせするのです． 」
  2. この 者がまだ 話している 間に， また 他のひとりが 來て 言った． 「カルデヤ 人が 三組になって， らくだを 襲い， これを 奪い， 若い 者たちを 劍の 刃で 打ち 殺しました． 私ひとりだけがのがれて， お 知らせするのです． 」
  3. この 者がまだ 話している 間に， また 他のひとりが 來て 言った． 「あなたのご 子息や 娘さんたちは 一番上のお 兄さんの 家で， 食事をしたりぶどう 酒を 飮んだりしておられました．
  4. そこへ 荒野のほうから 大風が 吹いて 來て， 家の 四隅を 打ち， それがお 若い 方¿の 上に 倒れたので， みなさまは 死なれました． 私ひとりだけがのがれて， あなたにお 知らせするのです． 」
  5. このとき， ヨブ は 立ち 上がり， その 上着を 引き 裂き， 頭をそり， 地にひれ 伏して 禮拜し，
  1. And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
  2. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
  1. そして 言った． 「私は 裸で 母の 胎から 出て 來た． また， 裸で 私はかしこに 歸ろう． 主は 與え， 主は 取られる． 主の 御名はほむべきかな． 」
  2. ヨブ はこのようになっても 罪を 犯さず， 神に 愚痴をこぼさなかった．
 
  사단의 두번째 시험(2:1-2:13)    
 
  1. Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
  2. And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
  3. And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.
  4. And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.
  5. But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.
  1. ある 日のこと， 神の 子らが 主の 前に 來て 立ったとき， サタン もいっしょに 來て， 主の 前に 立った．
  2. 主は サタン に 仰せられた． 「おまえはどこから 來たのか． 」 サタン は 主に 答えて 言った． 「地を 行き 巡り， そこを 步き 回って 來ました． 」
  3. 主は サタン に 仰せられた． 「おまえはわたしのしもべ ヨブ に 心を 留めたか． 彼のように 潔白で 正しく， 神を 恐れ， 惡から 遠ざかっている 者はひとりも 地上にはいない． 彼はなお， 自分の 誠實を 堅く 保っている． おまえは， わたしをそそのかして， 何の 理由もないのに 彼を 滅ぼそうとしたが． 」
  4. サタン は 主に 答えて 言った． 「皮の 代わりには 皮をもってします． 人は 自分のいのちの 代わりには， すべての 持ち 物を 與えるものです．
  5. しかし， 今あなたの 手を 伸べ， 彼の 骨と 肉とを 打ってください． 彼はきっと， あなたをのろうに 違いありません． 」
  1. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
  2. So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.
  3. And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes.
  4. Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.
  5. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.
  1. 主は サタン に 仰せられた． 「では， 彼をおまえの 手に 任せる． ただ 彼のいのちには 觸れるな． 」
  2. サタン は 主の 前から 出て 行き， ヨブ の 足の 裏から 頭の 頂まで， 惡性の 腫物で 彼を 打った．
  3. ヨブ は 土器のかけらを 取って 自分の 身をかき， また 灰の 中にすわった．
  4. すると 彼の 妻が 彼に 言った． 「それでもなお， あなたは 自分の 誠實を 堅く 保つのですか． 神をのろって 死になさい． 」
  5. しかし， 彼は 彼女に 言った． 「あなたは 愚かな 女が 言うようなことを 言っている． 私たちは 幸いを 神から 受けるのだから， わざわいをも 受けなければならないではないか． 」 ヨブ はこのようになっても， 罪を 犯すようなことを 口にしなかった．
  1. Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.
  2. And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.
  3. So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great.
  1. そのうちに， ヨブ の 三人の 友は， ヨブ に 降りかかったこのすべてのわざわいのことを 聞き， それぞれ 自分の 所からたずねて 來た． すなわち， テマン 人 エリファズ ， シュアハ 人 ビルダデ ， ナアマ 人 ツォファル である． 彼らは ヨブ に 悔やみを 言って 慰めようと 互いに 打ち 合わせて 來た．
  2. 彼らは 遠くから 目を 上げて 彼を 見たが， それが ヨブ であることが 見分けられないほどだった． 彼らは 聲をあげて 泣き， おのおの， 自分の 上着を 引き 裂き， ちりを 天に 向かって 投げ， 自分の 頭の 上にまき 散らした．
  3. こうして， 彼らは 彼とともに 七日七夜， 地にすわっていたが， だれも 一言も 彼に 話しかけなかった． 彼の 痛みがあまりにもひどいのを 見たからである．
 
  자기의 생일을 저주하는 욥(3:1-3:26)    
 
  1. After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day.
  2. And Job spake, and said,
  3. Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.
  4. Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it.
  5. Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.
  1. その 後， ヨブ は 口を 開いて 自分の 生まれた 日をのろった．
  2. ヨブ は 聲を 出して 言った．
  3. 私の 生まれた 日は 滅びうせよ． 「男の 子が 胎に 宿った． 」と 言ったその 夜も．
  4. その 日はやみになれ． 神もその 日を 顧みるな． 光もその 上を 照らすな．
  5. やみと 暗黑がこれを 取り 戾し， 雲がこの 上にとどまれ． ¿を 暗くするものもそれをおびやかせ．
  1. As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months.
  2. Lo, let that night be solitary, let no joyful voice come therein.
  3. Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.
  4. Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day:
  5. Because it shut not up the doors of my mother's womb, nor hid sorrow from mine eyes.
  1. その 夜は， 暗やみがこれを 奪い 取るように． これを 年の 日のうちで 喜ばせるな． 月の 數のうちにも 入れるな．
  2. ああ， その 夜は， はらむことのないように． その 夜には 喜びの 聲も 起こらないように．
  3. 日をのろう 者， レビヤタン を 呼び 起こせる 者がこれをのろうように．
  4. その 夜明けの 星は 暗くなれ． 光を 待ち 望んでも， それはなく， 曉のまぶたのあくのを 見ることがないように．
  5. それは， 私の 母の 胎の 戶が 閉じられず， 私の 目から 苦しみが 隱されなかったからだ．
  1. Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?
  2. Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck?
  3. For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,
  4. With kings and counsellors of the earth, which build desolate places for themselves;
  5. Or with princes that had gold, who filled their houses with silver:
  1. なぜ， 私は， 胎から 出たとき， 死ななかったのか． なぜ， 私は， 生まれ 出たとき， 息絶えなかったのか．
  2. なぜ， ひざが 私を 受けたのか． なぜ， 私の 吸う 乳房があったのか．
  3. 今ごろ， 私は 安らかに 橫になり， 眠って 休み，
  4. 自分たちのためにあの 廢墟を 築いたこの 世の 王たち， また 議官たち，
  5. あるいは 黃金を 持ち， 自分の 家を 銀で 滿たした 首長たちといっしょにいたことであろうに．
  1. Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.
  2. There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.
  3. There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor.
  4. The small and great are there; and the servant is free from his master.
  5. Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, and life unto the bitter in soul;
  1. それとも， 私は， ひそかにおろされた 流産の 子のよう， 光を 見なかった ¿兒のようでなかったのか．
  2. かしこでは， 惡者どもはいきりたつのをやめ， かしこでは， 力のなえた 者はいこい，
  3. 捕われ 人も 共に 休み， 追い 使う 者の 聲も 聞かない．
  4. かしこでは， 下の 者も 上の 者も 同じで， 奴隷も 主人から 解き 放たれる．
  5. なぜ， 苦しむ 者に 光が 與えられ， 心の 痛んだ 者にいのちが 與えられるのだろう．
  1. Which long for death, but it cometh not; and dig for it more than for hid treasures;
  2. Which rejoice exceedingly, and are glad, when they can find the grave?
  3. Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?
  4. For my sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like the waters.
  5. For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
  1. 死を 待ち 望んでも， 死は 來ない． それを 掘り 求めても， 隱された 寶を 掘り 求めるのにすぎないとは．
  2. 彼らは 墓を 見つけると， なぜ， 歡聲をあげて 喜び， 樂しむのだろう．
  3. 神が 圍いに 閉じ ¿めて， 自分の 道が 隱されている 人に， なぜ， 光が 與えられるのだろう．
  4. 實に， 私には 食物の 代わりに 嘆きが 來て， 私のうめき 聲は 水のようにあふれ 出る．
  5. 私の 最も 恐れたものが， 私を 襲い， 私のおびえたものが， 私の 身にふりかかったからだ．
  1. I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.
  1. 私には 安らぎもなく， 休みもなく， いこいもなく， 心はかき 亂されている．
