- Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;
- How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
- For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
- Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
- And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

- さて， 兄弟たち． 私たちは， マケドニヤ の 諸敎會に 與えられた 神の 惠みを， あなたがたに 知らせようと 思います．
- 苦しみゆえの 激しい 試練の 中にあっても， 彼らの 滿ちあふれる 喜びは， その 極度の 貧しさにもかかわらず， あふれ 出て， その 惜しみなく 施す 富となったのです．
- 私はあかしします． 彼らは 自ら 進んで， 力に 應じ， いや 力以上にささげ，
- 聖徒たちをささえる 交わりの 惠みにあずかりたいと， 熱心に 私たちに 願ったのです．
- そして， 私たちの 期待以上に， 神のみこころに 從って， まず 自分自身を 主にささげ， また， 私たちにもゆだねてくれました．

- Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.
- Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

- この 獻金のことについて， 私の 意見を 述べましょう． それはあなたがたの 益になることだからです． あなたがたは， このことを 昨年から， 他に 先んじて 行なっただけでなく， このことを 他に 先んじて 願った 人たちです．

- Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.
- For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
- For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
- But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
- As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.

- もし 熱意があるならば， 持たない 物によってではなく， 持っている 程度に 應じて， それは 受納されるのです．
- 私はこのことによって， 他の 人¿には 樂をさせ， あなたがたには 苦勞をさせようとしているのではなく， 平等を 圖っているのです．
- 今あなたがたの 余裕が 彼らの 欠乏を 補うなら， 彼らの 余裕もまた， あなたがたの 欠乏を 補うことになるのです． こうして， 平等になるのです．
- 「多く 集めた 者も 余るところがなく， 少し 集めた 者も 足りないところがなかった． 」と 書いてあるとおりです．
