- And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
- Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
- Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
- But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
- Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

- あなたがたは 自分の 罪過と 罪との 中に 死んでいた 者であって，
- そのころは， それらの 罪の 中にあってこの 世の 流れに 從い， 空中の 權威を 持つ 支配者として 今も 不從順の 子らの 中に ¿いている 靈に 從って， 步んでいました．
- 私たちもみな， かつては 不從順の 子らの 中にあって， 自分の 肉の 欲の 中に 生き， 肉と 心の 望むままを 行ない， ほかの 人たちと 同じように， 生まれながら 御怒りを 受けるべき 子らでした．
- しかし， あわれみ 豊かな 神は， 私たちを 愛してくださったその 大きな 愛のゆえに，
- 罪過の 中に 死んでいたこの 私たちを キリスト とともに 生かし， ··あなたがたが 救われたのは， ただ 惠みによるのです． ··

- And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
- That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
- For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
- Not of works, lest any man should boast.
- For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

- キリスト · イエス において， ともによみがえらせ， ともに 天の 所にすわらせてくださいました．
- それは， あとに 來る 世¿において， このすぐれて 豊かな 御惠みを， キリスト · イエス において 私たちに 賜わる 慈愛によって 明らかにお 示しになるためでした．
- あなたがたは， 惠みのゆえに， 信仰によって 救われたのです． それは， 自分自身から 出たことではなく， 神からの 賜物です．
- 行ないによるのではありません． だれも 誇ることのないためです．
- 私たちは 神の 作品であって， 良い 行ないをするために キリスト · イエス にあって 造られたのです． 神は， 私たちが 良い 行ないに 步むように， その 良い 行ないをもあらかじめ 備えてくださったのです．

- Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
- That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
- But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
- For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
- Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

- ですから， 思い 出してください． あなたがたは， 以前は 肉において 異邦人でした． すなわち， 肉において 人の 手による， いわゆる 割禮を 持つ 人¿からは， 無割禮の 人¿と 呼ばれる 者であって，
- そのころのあなたがたは， キリスト から 離れ， イスラエル の 國から 除外され， 約束の 契約については 他國人であり， この 世にあって 望みもなく， 神もない 人たちでした．
- しかし， 以前は 遠く 離れていたあなたがたも， 今では キリスト · イエス の 中にあることにより， キリスト の 血によって 近い 者とされたのです．
- キリスト こそ 私たちの 平和であり， 二つのものを 一つにし， 隔ての 壁を 打ちこわし，
- ご 自分の 肉において， 敵意を 廢棄された 方です． 敵意とは， さまざまの 規定から 成り 立っている 戒めの 律法なのです． このことは， 二つのものをご 自身において 新しいひとりの 人に 造り 上げて， 平和を 實現するためであり，

- And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
- And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
- For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
- Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
- And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

- また， 兩者を 一つのからだとして， 十字架によって 神と 和解させるためなのです． 敵意は 十字架によって 葬り 去られました．
- それから キリスト は 來られて， 遠くにいたあなたがたに 平和を 宣べ， 近くにいた 人たちにも 平和を 宣べられました．
- 私たちは， この キリスト によって， 兩者ともに 一つの 御靈において， 父のみもとに 近づくことができるのです．
- こういうわけで， あなたがたは， もはや 他國人でも 寄留者でもなく， 今は 聖徒たちと 同じ 國民であり， 神の 家族なのです．
- あなたがたは 使徒と 預言者という 土台の 上に 建てられており， キリスト · イエス ご 自身がその 礎石です．

- In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
- In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

- この 方にあって， 組み 合わされた 建物の 全體が 成長し， 主にある 聖なる 宮となるのであり，
- この キリスト にあって， あなたがたもともに 建てられ， 御靈によって 神の 御住まいとなるのです．
