- Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
- That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
- Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
- Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
- Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

- さて 兄弟たちよ． 私たちの 主 イエス · キリスト が 再び 來られることと， 私たちが 主のみもとに 集められることに 關して， あなたがたにお 願いすることがあります．
- 靈によってでも， あるいはことばによってでも， あるいは 私たちから 出たかのような 手紙によってでも， 主の 日がすでに 來たかのように 言われるのを 聞いて， すぐに 落ち 着きを 失ったり， 心を ¿がせたりしないでください．
- だれにも， どのようにも， だまされないようにしなさい． なぜなら， まず 背敎が 起こり， 不法の 人， すなわち 滅びの 子が 現われなければ， 主の 日は 來ないからです．
- 彼は， すべて 神と 呼ばれるもの， また 禮拜されるものに 反抗し， その 上に 自分を 高く 上げ， 神の 宮の 中に 座を 設け， 自分こそ 神であると 宣言します．
- 私がまだあなたがたのところにいたとき， これらのことをよく 話しておいたのを 思い 出しませんか．

- And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
- For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
- And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
- Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
- And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

- あなたがたが 知っているとおり， 彼がその 定められた 時に 現われるようにと， いま 引き 止めているものがあるのです．
- 不法の 秘密はすでに ¿いています． しかし 今は 引き 止める 者があって， 自分が 取り 除かれる 時まで 引き 止めているのです．
- その 時になると， 不法の 人が 現われますが， 主は 御口の 息をもって 彼を 殺し， 來臨の 輝きをもって 滅ぼしてしまわれます．
- 不法の 人の 到來は， サタン の ¿きによるのであって， あらゆる 僞りの 力， しるし， 不思議がそれに 伴い，
- また， 滅びる 人たちに 對するあらゆる 惡の 欺きが 行なわれます． なぜなら， 彼らは 救われるために 眞理への 愛を 受け 入れなかったからです．

- And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
- That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
- But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
- Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

- それゆえ 神は， 彼らが 僞りを 信じるように， 惑わす 力を 送り ¿まれます．
- それは， 眞理を 信じないで， 惡を 喜んでいたすべての 者が， さばかれるためです．
- しかし， あなたがたのことについては， 私たちはいつでも 神に 感謝しなければなりません． 主に 愛されている 兄弟たち． 神は， 御靈による 聖めと， 眞理による 信仰によって， あなたがたを， 初めから 救いにお 選びになったからです．
- ですから 神は， 私たちの 福音によってあなたがたを 召し， 私たちの 主 イエス · キリスト の 榮光を 得させてくださったのです．
- そこで， 兄弟たち． 堅く 立って， 私たちのことば， または 手紙によって 敎えられた 言い 傳えを 守りなさい．

- Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
- Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

- どうか， 私たちの 主 イエス · キリスト であり， 私たちの 父なる 神である 方， すなわち， 私たちを 愛し， 惠みによって 永遠の 慰めとすばらしい 望みとを 與えてくださった 方ご 自身が，
- あらゆる 良いわざとことばとに 進むよう， あなたがたの 心を 慰め， 强めてくださいますように．
