- Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
- Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
- And this will we do, if God permit.
- For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
- And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

- ですから， 私たちは， キリスト についての 初步の 敎えをあとにして， 成熟を 目ざして 進もうではありませんか． 死んだ 行ないからの 回心， 神に 對する 信仰，
- きよめの 洗いについての 敎え， 手を 置く 儀式， 死者の 復活， とこしえのさばきなど 基礎的なことを 再びやり 直したりしないようにしましょう．
- 神がお 許しになるならば， 私たちはそうすべきです．
- 一度光を 受けて 天からの 賜物の 味を 知り， 聖靈にあずかる 者となり，
- 神のすばらしいみことばと， 後にやがて 來る 世の 力とを 味わったうえで，

- If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
- For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
- But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
- But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
- For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

- しかも 墮落してしまうならば， そういう 人¿をもう 一度悔い 改めに 立ち 返らせることはできません． 彼らは， 自分で 神の 子をもう 一度十字架にかけて， 恥辱を 與える 人たちだからです．
- 土地は， その 上にしばしば 降る 雨を 吸い ¿んで， これを 耕す 人たちのために 有用な 作物を 生じるなら， 神の 祝福にあずかります．
- しかし， いばらやあざみなどを 生えさせるなら， 無用なものであって， やがてのろいを 受け， ついには 燒かれてしまいます．
- だが， 愛する 人たち． 私たちはこのように 言いますが， あなたがたについては， もっと 良いことを 確信しています． それは 救いにつながることです．
- 神は 正しい 方であって， あなたがたの 行ないを 忘れず， あなたがたがこれまで 聖徒たちに 仕え， また 今も 仕えて 神の 御名のために 示したあの 愛をお 忘れにならないのです．

- And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
- That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

- そこで， 私たちは， あなたがたひとりひとりが， 同じ 熱心さを 示して， 最後まで， 私たちの 希望について 十分な 確信を 持ち 續けてくれるように 切望します．
- それは， あなたがたがなまけずに， 信仰と 忍耐によって 約束のものを 相續するあの 人たちに， ならう 者となるためです．
