- Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
- A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
- For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
- For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
- Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

- 以上述べたことの 要点はこうです． すなわち， 私たちの 大祭司は 天におられる 大能者の 御座の 右に 着座された 方であり，
- 人間が 設けたのではなくて， 主が 設けられた 眞實の 幕屋である 聖所で 仕えておられる 方です．
- すべて， 大祭司は， ささげ 物といけにえとをささげるために 立てられます． したがって， この 大祭司も 何かささげる 物を 持っていなければなりません．
- もし キリスト が 地上におられるのであったら， 決して 祭司とはなられないでしょう． 律法に 從ってささげ 物をする 人たちがいるからです．
- その 人たちは， 天にあるものの 寫しと 影とに 仕えているのであって， それらは モ ― セ が 幕屋を 建てようとしたとき， 神から 御告げを 受けたとおりのものです． 神はこう 言われたのです． 「よく 注意しなさい． 山であなたに 示された 型に 從って， すべてのものを 作りなさい． 」

- But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
- For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
- For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
- Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
- For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

- しかし 今， キリスト はさらにすぐれた 務めを 得られました． それは 彼が， さらにすぐれた 約束に 基づいて 制定された， さらにすぐれた 契約の 仲介者であるからです．
- もしあの 初めの 契約が 欠けのないものであったなら， 後のものが 必要になる 余地はなかったでしょう．
- しかし， 神は， それに 欠けがあるとして， こう 言われたのです． 「主が， 言われる． 見よ． 日が 來る． わたしが， イスラエル の 家や ユダ の 家と 新しい 契約を 結ぶ 日が．
- それは， わたしが 彼らの 先祖たちの 手を 引いて， 彼らを エジプト の 地から 導き 出した 日に 彼らと 結んだ 契約のようなものではない． 彼らがわたしの 契約を 守り 通さないので， わたしも， 彼らを 顧みなかったと， 主は 言われる．
- それらの 日の 後， わたしが， イスラエル の 家と 結ぶ 契約は， これであると， 主が 言われる． わたしは， わたしの 律法を 彼らの 思いの 中に 入れ， 彼らの 心に 書きつける． わたしは 彼らの 神となり， 彼らはわたしの 民となる．

- And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
- For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
- In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

- また 彼らが， おのおのその 町の 者に， また， おのおのその 兄弟に 敎えて， 『主を 知れ． 』と 言うことは 決してない． 小さい 者から 大きい 者に 至るまで， 彼らはみな， わたしを 知るようになるからである．
- なぜなら， わたしは 彼らの 不義にあわれみをかけ， もはや， 彼らの 罪を 思い 出さないからである． 」
- 神が 新しい 契約と 言われたときには， 初めのものを 古いとされたのです． 年を 經て 古びたものは， すぐに 消えて 行きます．
