잠언 18:20-19:7

 성실하고 마음이 너그러운 자는 지혜가 있으나, 입술이 패려한 자나 야웨를 원망하는 자나 거짓 증언하는 자는 지혜가 없다.
  
 
  1. A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
  2. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
  3. Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
  4. The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.
  5. A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
  1. 人はその 口の 結ぶ 實によって 腹を 滿たし， そのくちびるによる 收穫に 滿たされる．
  2. 死と 生は 舌に 支配される． どちらかを 愛して， 人はその 實を 食べる．
  3. 良い 妻を 見つける 者はしあわせを 見つけ， 主からの 惠みをいただく．
  4. 貧しい 者は 哀願するが， 富む 者は 荒¿しく 答える．
  5. 滅びに 至らせる 友人たちもあれば， 兄弟よりも 親密な 者もいる．
 
 
  1. Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
  2. Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
  3. The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
  4. Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.
  5. A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
  1. 貧しくても， 誠實に 步む 者は， 曲がったことを 言う 愚かな 者にまさる．
  2. 熱心だけで 知識のないのはよくない． 急ぎ 足の 者はつまずく．
  3. 人は 自分の 愚かさによってその 生活を 滅ぼす． しかもその 心は 主に 向かって 激しく 怒る．
  4. 財産は 多くの 友を 增し 加え， 寄る ベ のない 者は， その 友からも 引き 離される．
  5. 僞りの 證人は 罰を 免れない． まやかしを 吹聽する 者も， のがれられない．
  1. Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.
  2. All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.
  1. 高貴な 人の 好意を 求める 者は 多く， だれでも 贈り 物をしてくれる 人の 友となる．
  2. 貧しい 者は 自分の 兄弟たちみなから 憎まれる． 彼の 友人が 彼から 遠ざかるのは， なおさらのこと． 彼がことばをもって 追い 求めても， 彼らはいない．
