- 激しく 憤る 者は 罰を 受ける． たとい 彼を 救い 出しても， ただ， これをくり 返さなければならない．
- 忠告を 聞き， 訓戒を 受け 入れよ． そうすれば， あなたはあとで 知惠を 得よう．
- 人の 心には 多くの 計畵がある． しかし 主のはかりごとだけが 成る．
- 人の 望むものは， 人の 變わらぬ 愛である． 貧しい 人は， まやかしを 言う 者にまさる．
- 主を 恐れるなら， いのちに 至る． 滿ち 足りて 住み， わざわいに 會わない．

- A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
- Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
- He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
- Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
- An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.

- なまけ 者は 手を 皿に 差し 入れても， それを 口に 持っていこうとしない．
- あざける 者を 打て． そうすれば， わきまえのない 者は 利口になる． 悟りのある 者を 責めよ． そうすれば， 彼は 知識をわきまえる．
- 父に 亂暴し， 母を 追い 出す 者は， 恥を 見， はずかしめを 受ける 子である．
- わが 子よ． 訓戒を 聞くのをやめてみよ． そうすれば， 知識のことばから 迷い 出る．
- よこしまな 證人は， さばきをあざけり， 惡者の 口は， わざわいをのみこむ．
