- 人がもし， 不當な 苦しみを 受けながらも， 神の 前における 良心のゆえに， 悲しみをこらえるなら， それは 喜ばれることです．
- 罪を 犯したために 打ちたたかれて， それを 耐え 忍んだからといって， 何の 譽れになるでしょう． けれども， 善を 行なっていて 苦しみを 受け， それを 耐え 忍ぶとしたら， それは， 神に 喜ばれることです．
