- And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
- And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
- But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
- And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
- And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

- それからすぐ， イエス は 群衆を 解散させておられる 間に， しいて 弟子たちを 舟に 乘り ¿ませ， 向こう 岸へ 先におやりになった．
- そして 群衆を 解散させてから， 祈るためひそかに 山へ 登られた． 夕方になっても， ただひとりそこにおられた．
- ところが 舟は， もうすでに 陸から 數丁も 離れており， 逆風が 吹いていたために， 波に 惱まされていた．
- イエス は 夜明けの 四時ごろ， 海の 上を 步いて 彼らの 方へ 行かれた．
- 弟子たちは， イエス が 海の 上を 步いておられるのを 見て， 幽靈だと 言っておじ 惑い， 恐怖のあまり 叫び 聲をあげた．

- But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
- And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
- And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
- But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
- And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

- しかし， イエス はすぐに 彼らに 聲をかけて， 「しっかりするのだ， わたしである． 恐れることはない 」と 言われた．
- すると ペテロ が 答えて 言った， 「主よ， あなたでしたか． では， わたしに 命じて， 水の 上を 渡ってみもとに 行かせてください 」．
- イエス は， 「おいでなさい 」と 言われたので， ペテロ は 舟からおり， 水の 上を 步いて イエス のところへ 行った．
- しかし， 風を 見て 恐ろしくなり， そしておぼれかけたので， 彼は 叫んで， 「主よ， お 助けください 」と 言った．
- イエス はすぐに 手を 伸ばし， 彼をつかまえて 言われた， 「信仰の 薄い 者よ， なぜ 疑ったのか 」．

- And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
- Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
- And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.
- And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;
- And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

- ふたりが 舟に 乘り ¿むと， 風はやんでしまった．
- 舟の 中にいた 者たちは イエス を 拜して， 「ほんとうに， あなたは 神の 子です 」と 言った．
- それから， 彼らは 海を 渡って ゲネサレ の 地に 着いた．
- するとその 土地の 人¿は イエス と 知って， その 附近全體に 人をつかわし， イエス のところに 病人をみな 連れてこさせた．
- そして 彼らに イエス の 上着のふさにでも， さわらせてやっていただきたいとお 願いした． そしてさわった 者は 皆いやされた．
