- Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
- If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
- If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
- If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.
- And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:

- これはあなたが 彼らの 前に 示すべきおきてである．
- あなたが ヘブル びとである 奴隷を 買う 時は， 六年のあいだ 仕えさせ， 七年目には 無償で 自由の 身として 去らせなければならない．
- 彼がもし 獨身できたならば， 獨身で 去らなければならない． もし 妻を 持っていたならば， その 妻は 彼と 共に 去らなければならない．
- もしその 主人が 彼に 妻を 與えて， 彼に 男の 子また 女の 子を 産んだならば， 妻とその 子供は 主人のものとなり， 彼は 獨身で 去らなければならない．
- 奴隷がもし『わたしは， わたしの 主人と， わたしの 妻と 子供を 愛します． わたしは 自由の 身となって 去ることを 好みません 』と 明言するならば，

- Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
- And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
- If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
- And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
- If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.

- その 主人は 彼を 神のもとに 連れて 行き， 戶あるいは 柱のところに 連れて 行って， 主人は， きりで 彼の 耳を 刺し 通さなければならない． そうすれば 彼はいつまでもこれに 仕えるであろう．
- もし 人がその 娘を 女奴隷として 賣るならば， その 娘は 男奴隷が 去るように 去ってはならない．
- 彼女がもし 彼女を 自分のものと 定めた 主人の 氣にいらない 時は， その 主人は 彼女が， あがなわれることを， これに 許さなければならない． 彼はこれを 欺いたのであるから， これを 他國の 民に 賣る 權利はない．
- 彼がもし 彼女を 自分の 子のものと 定めるならば， これを 娘のように 扱わなければならない．
- 彼が， たとい， ほかに 女をめとることがあっても， 前の 女に 食物と 衣服を 與えることと， その 夫婦の 道とを 絶えさせてはならない．

- And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.
- He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
- And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
- But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
- And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.

- 彼がもしこの 三つを 行わないならば， 彼女は 金を 償わずに 去ることができる．
- 人を 擊って 死なせた 者は， 必ず 殺されなければならない．
- しかし， 人がたくむことをしないのに， 神が 彼の 手に 人をわたされることのある 時は， わたしはあなたのために 一つの 所を 定めよう． 彼はその 所へのがれることができる．
- しかし 人がもし， ことさらにその 隣人を 欺いて 殺す 時は， その 者をわたしの 祭壇からでも， 捕えて 行って 殺さなければならない．
- 自分の 父または 母を 擊つ 者は， 必ず 殺されなければならない．

- And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
- And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
- And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed:
- If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.
- And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.

- 人をかどわかした 者は， これを 賣っていても， なお 彼の 手にあっても， 必ず 殺されなければならない．
- 自分の 父または 母をのろう 者は， 必ず 殺されなければならない．
- 人が 互に 爭い， そのひとりが 石または， こぶしで 相手を 擊った 時， これが 死なないで 床につき，
- 再び 起きあがって， つえにすがり， 外を 步くようになるならば， これを 擊った 者は， ゆるされるであろう． ただその 仕事を 休んだ 損失を 償い， かつこれにじゅうぶん 治療させなければならない．
- もし 人がつえをもって， 自分の 男奴隷または 女奴隷を 擊ち， その 手の 下に 死ぬならば， 必ず 罰せられなければならない．

- Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
- If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
- And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
- Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
- Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

- しかし， 彼がもし 一日か， ふつか 生き 延びるならば， その 人は 罰せられない． 奴隷は 彼の 財産だからである．
- もし 人が 互に 爭って， 身ごもった 女を 擊ち， これに 流産させるならば， ほかの 害がなくとも， 彼は 必ずその 女の 夫の 求める 罰金を 課せられ， 裁判人の 定めるとおりに 支拂わなければならない．
- しかし， ほかの 害がある 時は， 命には 命，
- 目には 目， 齒には 齒， 手には 手， 足には 足，
- 燒き 傷には 燒き 傷， 傷には 傷， 打ち 傷には 打ち 傷をもって 償わなければならない．

- And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.
- And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake.
- If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
- But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
- If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.

- もし 人が 自分の 男奴隷の 片目， または 女奴隷の 片目を 擊ち， これをつぶすならば， その 目のためにこれを 自由の 身として 去らせなければならない．
- また， もしその 男奴隷の 一本の 齒， またはその 女奴隷の 一本の 齒を 擊ち 落すならば， その 齒のためにこれを 自由の 身として 去らせなければならない．
- もし 牛が 男または 女を 突いて 殺すならば， その 牛は 必ず 石で 擊ち 殺されなければならない． その 肉は 食べてはならない． しかし， その 牛の 持ち 主は 罪がない．
- 牛がもし 以前から 突く 癖があって， その 持ち 主が 注意されても， これを 守りおかなかったために， 男または 女を 殺したならば， その 牛は 石で 擊ち 殺され， その 持ち 主もまた 殺されなければならない．
- 彼がもし， あがないの 金を 課せられたならば， すべて 課せられたほどのものを， 命の 償いに 支拂わなければならない．

- Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
- If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
- And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;
- The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
- And if one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.

- 男の 子を 突いても， 女の 子を 突いても， この 定めに 從って 處置されなければならない．
- 牛がもし 男奴隷または 女奴隷を 突くならば， その 主人に 銀三十 シケル を 支拂わなければならない． またその 牛は 石で 擊ち 殺されなければならない．
- もし 人が 穴をあけたままに 置き， あるいは 穴を 掘ってこれにおおいをしないために， 牛または， ろばがこれに 落ち ¿むことがあれば，
- 穴の 持ち 主はこれを 償い， 金をその 持ち 主に 支拂わなければならない． しかし， その 死んだ ¿は 彼のものとなるであろう．
- ある 人の 牛が， もし 他人の 牛を 突いて 殺すならば， 彼らはその 生きている 牛を 賣って， その 價を 分け， またその 死んだものをも 分けなければならない．

- Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.

- あるいはその 牛が 以前から 突く 癖のあることが 知られているのに， その 持ち 主がこれを 守りおかなかったならば， その 人は 必ずその 牛のために 牛をもって 償わなければならない． しかし， その 死んだ ¿は 彼のものとなるであろう．
