- And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
- Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
- And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
- And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.
- And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.

- そして， イエス がまだ 話しておられるうちに， そこに， 十二弟子のひとりの ユダ がきた． また 祭司長， 民の 長老たちから 送られた 大ぜいの 群衆も， 劍と 棒とを 持って 彼についてきた．
- イエス を 裏切った 者が， あらかじめ 彼らに， 「わたしの 接吻する 者が， その 人だ． その 人をつかまえろ 」と 合圖をしておいた．
- 彼はすぐ イエス に 近寄り， 「先生， いかがですか 」と 言って， イエス に 接吻した．
- しかし， イエス は 彼に 言われた， 「友よ， なんのためにきたのか 」． このとき， 人¿は 進み 寄って， イエス に 手をかけてつかまえた．
- すると， イエス と 一緖にいた 者のひとりが， 手を 伸ばして 劍を 拔き， そして 大祭司の 僕に 切りかかって， その 片耳を 切り 落した．

- Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
- Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
- But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
- In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
- But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

- そこで， イエス は 彼に 言われた， 「あなたの 劍をもとの 所におさめなさい． 劍をとる 者はみな， 劍で 滅びる．
- それとも， わたしが 父に 願って， 天の 使たちを 十二軍團以上も， 今つかわしていただくことができないと， あなたは 思うのか．
- しかし， それでは， こうならねばならないと 書いてある 聖書の 言葉は， どうして 成就されようか 」．
- そのとき， イエス は 群衆に 言われた， 「あなたがたは 强盜にむかうように， 劍や 棒を 持ってわたしを 捕えにきたのか． わたしは 每日， 宮ですわって 敎えていたのに， わたしをつかまえはしなかった．
- しかし， すべてこうなったのは， 預言者たちの 書いたことが， 成就するためである 」． そのとき， 弟子たちは 皆 イエス を 見捨てて 逃げ 去った．

- And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
- But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
- Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
- But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
- And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

- さて， イエス をつかまえた 人たちは， 大祭司 カヤパ のところに イエス を 連れて 行った． そこには 律法學者， 長老たちが 集まっていた．
- ペテロ は 遠くから イエス について， 大祭司の 中庭まで 行き， そのなりゆきを 見とどけるために， 中にはいって 下役どもと 一緖にすわっていた．
- さて， 祭司長たちと 全議會とは， イエス を 死刑にするため， イエス に 不利な 僞證を 求めようとしていた．
- そこで 多くの 僞證者が 出てきたが， 證據があがらなかった． しかし， 最後にふたりの 者が 出てきて，
- 言った， 「この 人は， わたしは 神の 宮を 打ちこわし， 三日の 後に 建てることができる， と 言いました 」．

- And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
- But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
- Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
- Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
- What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

- すると， 大祭司が 立ち 上がって イエス に 言った， 「何も 答えないのか． これらの 人¿があなたに 對して 不利な 證言を 申し 立てているが， どうなのか 」．
- しかし， イエス は 默っておられた． そこで 大祭司は 言った， 「あなたは 神の 子 キリスト なのかどうか， 生ける 神に 誓ってわれわれに 答えよ 」．
- イエス は 彼に 言われた， 「あなたの 言うとおりである． しかし， わたしは 言っておく． あなたがたは， 間もなく， 人の 子が 力ある 者の 右に 座し， 天の 雲に 乘って 來るのを 見るであろう 」．
- すると， 大祭司はその 衣を 引き 裂いて 言った， 「彼は 神を 汚した． どうしてこれ 以上， 證人の 必要があろう． あなたがたは 今このけがし 言を 聞いた．
- あなたがたの 意見はどうか 」． すると， 彼らは 答えて 言った， 「彼は 死に 當るものだ 」．

- Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,
- Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

- それから， 彼らは イエス の 顔につばきをかけて， こぶしで 打ち， またある 人は 手のひらでたたいて 言った，
- 「キリスト よ， 言いあててみよ， 打ったのはだれか 」．
