- The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
- When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
- Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
- One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

- たとい 軍勢が 陣營を 張って， わたしを 攻めても， わたしの 心は 恐れない． たといいくさが 起って， わたしを 攻めても， なおわたしはみずから 賴むところがある．
- わたしは 一つの 事を 主に 願った， わたしはそれを 求める． わたしの 生きるかぎり， 主の 家に 住んで， 主のうるわしきを 見， その 宮で 尋ねきわめることを．
- それは 主が 惱みの 日に， その 假屋のうちにわたしを 潛ませ， その 幕屋の 奧にわたしを 隱し， 岩の 上にわたしを 高く 置かれるからである．
