- Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.
- For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
- I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.
- I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.
- For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

- 主よ， わたしをあわれんでください． わたしは 惱み 苦しんでいます． わたしの 目は 憂いによって 衰え， わたしの 魂も， からだもまた 衰えました．
- わたしのいのちは 悲しみによって 消えゆき， わたしの 年は 嘆きによって 消えさり， わたしの 力は 苦しみによって 盡き， わたしの 骨は 枯れはてました．
- わたしはすべてのあだにそしられる 者となり， 隣り 人には 恐れられ， 知り 人には 恐るべき 者となり， ちまたでわたしを 見る 者は 避けて 逃げます．
- わたしは 死んだ 者のように 人の 心に 忘れられ， 破れた 器のようになりました．
- まことに， わたしは 多くの 人のささやくのを 聞きます， 「至る 所に 恐るべきことがある 」と． 彼らはわたしに 逆らってともに 計り， わたしのいのちを 取ろうと， たくらむのです．
