- And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
- And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
- And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
- And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.
- And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

- さて， 使徒たちは イエス のもとに 集まってきて， 自分たちがしたことや 敎えたことを， みな 報告した．
- すると イエス は 彼らに 言われた， 「さあ， あなたがたは， 人を 避けて 寂しい 所へ 行って， しばらく 休むがよい 」． それは， 出入りする 人が 多くて， 食事をする 暇もなかったからである．
- そこで 彼らは 人を 避け， 舟に 乘って 寂しい 所へ 行った．
- ところが， 多くの 人¿は 彼らが 出かけて 行くのを 見， それと 氣づいて， 方¿の 町¿からそこへ， 一せいに 驅けつけ， 彼らより 先に 着いた．
- イエス は 舟から 上がって 大ぜいの 群衆をごらんになり， 飼う 者のない 羊のようなその 有樣を 深くあわれんで， いろいろと 敎えはじめられた．

- And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:
- Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.
- He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
- He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
- And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

- ところが， はや 時もおそくなったので， 弟子たちは イエス のもとにきて 言った， 「ここは 寂しい 所でもあり， もう 時もおそくなりました．
- みんなを 解散させ， めいめいで 何か 食べる 物を 買いに， まわりの 部落や 村¿へ 行かせてください 」．
- イエス は 答えて 言われた， 「あなたがたの 手で 食物をやりなさい 」． 弟子たちは 言った， 「わたしたちが 二百 デナリ もの パン を 買ってきて， みんなに 食べさせるのですか 」．
- すると イエス は 言われた． 「パン は 幾つあるか． 見てきなさい 」． 彼らは 確かめてきて， 「五つあります． それに 魚が 二ひき 」と 言った．
- そこで イエス は， みんなを 組¿に 分けて， 靑草の 上にすわらせるように 命じられた．

- And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
- And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
- And they did all eat, and were filled.
- And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
- And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.

- 人¿は， あるいは 百人ずつ， あるいは 五十人ずつ， 列をつくってすわった．
- それから， イエス は 五つの パン と 二ひきの 魚とを 手に 取り， 天を 仰いでそれを 祝福し， パン をさき， 弟子たちにわたして 配らせ， また， 二ひきの 魚もみんなにお 分けになった．
- みんなの 者は 食べて 滿腹した．
- そこで， パン くずや 魚の 殘りを 集めると， 十二のかごにいっぱいになった．
- パン を 食べた 者は 男五千人であった．

- And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.
- And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.
- And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
- And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.
- But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

- それからすぐ， イエス は 自分で 群衆を 解散させておられる 間に， しいて 弟子たちを 舟に 乘り ¿ませ， 向こう 岸の ベツサイダ へ 先におやりになった．
- そして 群衆に 別れてから， 祈るために 山へ 退かれた．
- 夕方になったとき， 舟は 海のまん 中に 出ており， イエス だけが 陸地におられた．
- ところが 逆風が 吹いていたために， 弟子たちがこぎ 惱んでいるのをごらんになって， 夜明けの 四時ごろ， 海の 上を 步いて 彼らに 近づき， そのそばを 通り 過ぎようとされた．
- 彼らは イエス が 海の 上を 步いておられるのを 見て， 幽靈だと 思い， 大聲で 叫んだ．

- For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
- And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.
- For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.
- And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.
- And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,

- みんなの 者がそれを 見て， おじ 恐れたからである． しかし， イエス はすぐ 彼らに 聲をかけ， 「しっかりするのだ． わたしである． 恐れることはない 」と 言われた．
- そして， 彼らの 舟に 乘り ¿まれると， 風はやんだ． 彼らは 心の 中で， 非常に 驚いた．
- 先の パン のことを 悟らず， その 心が 鈍くなっていたからである．
- 彼らは 海を 渡り， ゲネサレ の 地に 着いて 舟をつないだ．
- そして 舟からあがると， 人¿はすぐ イエス と 知って，

- And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.
- And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

- その 地方をあまねく 驅けめぐり， イエス がおられると 聞けば， どこへでも 病人を 床にのせて 運びはじめた．
- そして， 村でも 町でも 部落でも， イエス がはいって 行かれる 所では， 病人たちをその 廣場におき， せめてその 上着のふさにでも， さわらせてやっていただきたいと， お 願いした． そしてさわった 者は 皆いやされた．
