- And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
- And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;
- Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,
- Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes,
- And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.

- このころ， イエス は 祈るために 山へ 行き， 夜を 徹して 神に 祈られた．
- 夜が 明けると， 弟子たちを 呼び 寄せ， その 中から 十二人を 選び 出し， これに 使徒という 名をお 與えになった．
- すなわち， ペテロ とも 呼ばれた シモン とその 兄弟 アンデレ ， ヤコブ と ヨハネ ， ピリポ と バルトロマイ ，
- マタイ と トマス ， アルパヨ の 子 ヤコブ と， 熱心黨と 呼ばれた シモン ，
- ヤコブ の 子 ユダ ， それから イスカリオテ の ユダ ． この ユダ が 裏切者となったのである．

- And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
- And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
- And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
- And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
- Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

- そして， イエス は 彼らと 一緖に 山を 下って 平地に 立たれたが， 大ぜいの 弟子たちや， ユダヤ 全土， エルサレム ， ツロ と シドン の 海岸地方などからの 大群衆が，
- 敎を 聞こうとし， また 病氣をなおしてもらおうとして， そこにきていた． そして 汚れた 靈に 惱まされている 者たちも， いやされた．
- また 群衆は イエス にさわろうと 努めた． それは 力が イエス の 內から 出て， みんなの 者を 次¿にいやしたからである．
- そのとき， イエス は 目をあげ， 弟子たちを 見て 言われた， 「あなたがた 貧しい 人たちは， さいわいだ． 神の 國はあなたがたのものである．
- あなたがたいま 飢えている 人たちは， さいわいだ． 飽き 足りるようになるからである． あなたがたいま 泣いている 人たちは， さいわいだ． 笑うようになるからである．

- Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
- Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
- But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
- Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
- Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

- 人¿があなたがたを 憎むとき， また 人の 子のためにあなたがたを 排斥し， ののしり， 汚名を 着せるときは， あなたがたはさいわいだ．
- その 日には 喜びおどれ． 見よ， 天においてあなたがたの 受ける 報いは 大きいのだから． 彼らの 祖先も， 預言者たちに 對して 同じことをしたのである．
- しかしあなたがた 富んでいる 人たちは， わざわいだ． 慰めを 受けてしまっているからである．
- あなたがた 今滿腹している 人たちは， わざわいだ． 飢えるようになるからである． あなたがた 今笑っている 人たちは， わざわいだ． 悲しみ 泣くようになるからである．
- 人が 皆あなたがたをほめるときは， あなたがたはわざわいだ． 彼らの 祖先も， にせ 預言者たちに 對して 同じことをしたのである．

- But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
- Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
- And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.
- Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
- And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

- しかし， 聞いているあなたがたに 言う． 敵を 愛し， 憎む 者に 親切にせよ．
- のろう 者を 祝福し， はずかしめる 者のために 祈れ．
- あなたの 頰を 打つ 者にはほかの 頰をも 向けてやり， あなたの 上着を 奪い 取る 者には 下着をも 拒むな．
- あなたに 求める 者には 與えてやり， あなたの 持ち 物を 奪う 者からは 取りもどそうとするな．
- 人¿にしてほしいと， あなたがたの 望むことを， 人¿にもそのとおりにせよ．

- For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
- And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
- And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
- But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
- Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

- 自分を 愛してくれる 者を 愛したからとて， どれほどの 手柄になろうか． 罪人でさえ， 自分を 愛してくれる 者を 愛している．
- 自分によくしてくれる 者によくしたとて， どれほどの 手柄になろうか． 罪人でさえ， それくらいの 事はしている．
- また 返してもらうつもりで 貸したとて， どれほどの 手柄になろうか． 罪人でも， 同じだけのものを 返してもらおうとして， 仲間に 貸すのである．
- しかし， あなたがたは， 敵を 愛し， 人によくしてやり， また 何も 當てにしないで 貸してやれ． そうすれば 受ける 報いは 大きく， あなたがたはいと 高き 者の 子となるであろう． いと 高き 者は， 恩を 知らぬ 者にも 惡人にも， なさけ 深いからである．
- あなたがたの 父なる 神が 慈悲深いように， あなたがたも 慈悲深い 者となれ．

- Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
- Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

- 人をさばくな． そうすれば， 自分もさばかれることがないであろう． また 人を 罪に 定めるな． そうすれば， 自分も 罪に 定められることがないであろう． ゆるしてやれ． そうすれば， 自分もゆるされるであろう．
- 與えよ． そうすれば， 自分にも 與えられるであろう． 人¿はおし 入れ， ゆすり 入れ， あふれ 出るまでに 量をよくして， あなたがたのふところに 入れてくれるであろう． あなたがたの 量るその 量りで， 自分にも 量りかえされるであろうから 」．
