- And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
- And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
- And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
- And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
- And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

- 群衆の 中のひとりが イエス に 言った， 「先生， わたしの 兄弟に， 遺産を 分けてくれるようにおっしゃってください 」．
- 彼に 言われた， 「人よ， だれがわたしをあなたがたの 裁判人または 分配人に 立てたのか 」．
- それから 人¿にむかって 言われた， 「あらゆる ·欲に 對してよくよく 警戒しなさい． たといたくさんの 物を 持っていても， 人のいのちは， 持ち 物にはよらないのである 」．
- そこで 一つの ·を 語られた， 「ある 金持の 畑が 豊作であった．
- そこで 彼は 心の 中で， 『どうしようか， わたしの 作物をしまっておく 所がないのだが 』と 思いめぐらして

- And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
- And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
- But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
- So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
- And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

- 言った， 『こうしよう． わたしの 倉を 取りこわし， もっと 大きいのを 建てて， そこに 穀物や 食糧を 全部しまい ¿もう．
- そして 自分の 魂に 言おう． たましいよ， おまえには 長年分の 食糧がたくさんたくわえてある． さあ 安心せよ， 食え， 飮め， 樂しめ 』．
- すると 神が 彼に 言われた， 『愚かな 者よ， あなたの 魂は 今夜のうちにも 取り 去られるであろう． そしたら， あなたが 用意した 物は， だれのものになるのか 』．
- 自分のために 寶を 積んで 神に 對して 富まない 者は， これと 同じである 」．
- それから 弟子たちに 言われた， 「それだから， あなたがたに 言っておく． 何を 食べようかと， 命のことで 思いわずらい， 何を 着ようかとからだのことで 思いわずらうな．

- The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
- Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
- And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
- If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
- Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

- 命は 食物にまさり， からだは 着物にまさっている．
- からすのことを 考えて 見よ． まくことも， 刈ることもせず， また， 納屋もなく 倉もない． それだのに， 神は 彼らを 養っていて 下さる． あなたがたは 鳥よりも， はるかにすぐれているではないか．
- あなたがたのうち， だれが 思いわずらったからとて， 自分の 壽命をわずかでも 延ばすことができようか．
- そんな 小さな 事さえできないのに， どうしてほかのことを 思いわずらうのか．
- 野の 花のことを 考えて 見るがよい． 紡ぎもせず， 織りもしない． しかし， あなたがたに 言うが， 榮華をきわめた 時の ソロモン でさえ， この 花の 一つほどにも 着飾ってはいなかった．

- If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
- And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
- For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
- But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
- Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

- きょうは 野にあって， あすは 爐に 投げ 入れられる 草でさえ， 神はこのように 裝って 下さるのなら， あなたがたに， それ 以上よくしてくださらないはずがあろうか． ああ， 信仰の 薄い 者たちよ．
- あなたがたも， 何を 食べ， 何を 飮もうかと， あくせくするな， また 氣を 使うな．
- これらのものは 皆， この 世の 異邦人が 切に 求めているものである． あなたがたの 父は， これらのものがあなたがたに 必要であることを， ご 存じである．
- ただ， 御國を 求めなさい． そうすれば， これらのものは 添えて 與えられるであろう．
- 恐れるな， 小さい 群れよ． 御國を 下さることは， あなたがたの 父のみこころなのである．

- Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
- For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

- 自分の 持ち 物を 賣って， 施しなさい． 自分のために 古びることのない 財布をつくり， 盜人も 近寄らず， 蟲も 食い 破らない 天に， 盡きることのない 寶をたくわえなさい．
- あなたがたの 寶のある 所には， 心もあるからである．
