- And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.
- And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.
- Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.
- I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
- So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?

- イエス はまた， 弟子たちに 言われた， 「ある 金持のところにひとりの 家令がいたが， 彼は 主人の 財産を 浪費していると， 告げ 口をする 者があった．
- そこで 主人は 彼を 呼んで 言った， 『あなたについて 聞いていることがあるが， あれはどうなのか． あなたの 會計報告を 出しなさい． もう 家令をさせて 置くわけにはいかないから 』．
- この 家令は 心の 中で 思った， 『どうしようか． 主人がわたしの 職を 取り 上げようとしている． 土を 掘るには 力がないし， 物ごいするのは 恥ずかしい．
- そうだ， わかった． こうしておけば， 職をやめさせられる 場合， 人¿がわたしをその 家に 迎えてくれるだろう 』．
- それから 彼は， 主人の 負債者をひとりびとり 呼び 出して， 初めの 人に， 『あなたは， わたしの 主人にどれだけ 負債がありますか 』と 尋ねた．

- And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.
- Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.
- And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
- And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
- He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

- 『油百樽です 』と 答えた． そこで 家令が 言った， 『ここにあなたの 證書がある． すぐそこにすわって， 五十樽と 書き 變えなさい 』．
- 次に， もうひとりに， 『あなたの 負債はどれだけですか 』と 尋ねると， 『麥百石です 』と 答えた． これに 對して， 『ここに， あなたの 證書があるが， 八十石と 書き 變えなさい 』と 言った．
- ところが 主人は， この 不正な 家令の 利口なやり 方をほめた． この 世の 子らはその 時代に 對しては， 光の 子らよりも 利口である．
- またあなたがたに 言うが， 不正の 富を 用いてでも， 自分のために 友だちをつくるがよい． そうすれば， 富が 無くなった 場合， あなたがたを 永遠のすまいに 迎えてくれるであろう．
- 小事に 忠實な 人は， 大事にも 忠實である． そして， 小事に 不忠實な 人は 大事にも 不忠實である．

- If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
- And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?
- No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
- And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
- And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

- だから， もしあなたがたが 不正の 富について 忠實でなかったら， だれが 眞の 富を 任せるだろうか．
- また， もしほかの 人のものについて 忠實でなかったら， だれがあなたがたのものを 與えてくれようか．
- どの 僕でも， ふたりの 主人に 兼ね 仕えることはできない． 一方を 憎んで 他方を 愛し， あるいは， 一方に 親しんで 他方をうとんじるからである． あなたがたは， 神と 富とに 兼ね 仕えることはできない 」．
- 欲の 深い パリサイ 人たちが， すべてこれらの 言葉を 聞いて， イエス をあざ 笑った．
- そこで 彼らにむかって 言われた， 「あなたがたは， 人¿の 前で 自分を 正しいとする 人たちである． しかし， 神はあなたがたの 心をご 存じである． 人¿の 間で 尊ばれるものは， 神のみまえでは 忌みきらわれる．

- The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.
- And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
- Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

- 律法と 預言者とは ヨハネ の 時までのものである． それ 以來， 神の 國が 宣べ 傳えられ， 人¿は 皆これに 突入している．
- しかし， 律法の 一畵が 落ちるよりは， 天地の 滅びる 方が， もっとたやすい．
- すべて 自分の 妻を 出して 他の 女をめとる 者は， 姦淫を 行うものであり， また， 夫から 出された 女をめとる 者も， 姦淫を 行うものである．
