- And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
- Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
- And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
- And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
- Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

- また， イエス は 失望せずに 常に 祈るべきことを， 人¿に ·で 敎えられた．
- 「ある 町に， 神を 恐れず， 人を 人とも 思わぬ 裁判官がいた．
- ところが， その 同じ 町にひとりのやもめがいて， 彼のもとにたびたびきて， 『どうぞ， わたしを 訴える 者をさばいて， わたしを 守ってください 』と 願いつづけた．
- 彼はしばらくの 間きき 入れないでいたが， そののち， 心のうちで 考えた， 『わたしは 神をも 恐れず， 人を 人とも 思わないが，
- このやもめがわたしに 面倒をかけるから， 彼女のためになる 裁判をしてやろう． そしたら， 絶えずやってきてわたしを 惱ますことがなくなるだろう 』」．

- And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
- And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
- I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
- And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
- Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

- そこで 主は 言われた， 「この 不義な 裁判官の 言っていることを 聞いたか．
- まして 神は， 日夜叫び 求める 選民のために， 正しいさばきをしてくださらずに 長い 間そのままにしておかれることがあろうか．
- あなたがたに 言っておくが， 神はすみやかにさばいてくださるであろう． しかし， 人の 子が 來るとき， 地上に 信仰が 見られるであろうか 」．
- 自分を 義人だと 自任して 他人を 見下げている 人たちに 對して， イエス はまたこの ·をお 話しになった．
- 「ふたりの 人が 祈るために 宮に 上った． そのひとりは パリサイ 人であり， もうひとりは 取稅人であった．

- The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
- I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
- And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
- I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
- And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

- パリサイ 人は 立って， ひとりでこう 祈った， 『神よ， わたしはほかの 人たちのような ·欲な 者， 不正な 者， 姦淫をする 者ではなく， また， この 取稅人のような 人間でもないことを 感謝します．
- わたしは 一週に 二度斷食しており， 全收入の 十分の 一をささげています 』．
- ところが， 取稅人は 遠く 離れて 立ち， 目を 天にむけようともしないで， 胸を 打ちながら 言った， 『神樣， 罪人のわたしをおゆるしください 』と．
- あなたがたに 言っておく． 神に 義とされて 自分の 家に 歸ったのは， この 取稅人であって， あの パリサイ 人ではなかった． おおよそ， 自分を 高くする 者は 低くされ， 自分を 低くする 者は 高くされるであろう 」．
- イエス にさわっていただくために， 人¿が 幼な 子らをみもとに 連れてきた． ところが， 弟子たちはそれを 見て， 彼らをたしなめた．

- But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
- Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

- すると イエス は 幼な 子らを 呼び 寄せて 言われた， 「幼な 子らをわたしのところに 來るままにしておきなさい， 止めてはならない． 神の 國はこのような 者の 國である．
- よく 聞いておくがよい． だれでも 幼な 子のように 神の 國を 受け 入れる 者でなければ， そこにはいることは 決してできない 」．
