- If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
- If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
- Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
- Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
- My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

- もしその 子孫がわがおきてを 捨て， わがさばきに 從って 步まないならば，
- もし 彼らがわが 定めを 犯し， わが 戒めを 守らないならば，
- わたしはつえをもって 彼らのとがを 罰し， むちをもって 彼らの 不義を 罰する．
- しかし， わたしはわがいつくしみを ／彼から 取り 去ることなく， わがまことにそむくことはない．
- わたしはわが 契約を 破ることなく， わがくちびるから 出た 言葉を 變えることはない．
