	사도행전 9:1-9:31 박해의 선봉자였던 사울이 다메섹 도상에서 예수님을 만나 변화되어 이방인 선교를 위한 사도로 부름받았다. 그는 유대인들의 살해 음모와 사도들의 불신의 장벽을 극복하고 다메섹과 예루살렘에서 복음을 전파하기 시작했다.

	사울의 회심(9:1-9:31)

And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

さてサウロは，なおも主の弟子たちに對する脅迫，殺害の息をはずませながら，大祭司のところに行って，

ダマスコの諸會堂あての添書を求めた．それは，この道の者を見つけ次第，男女の別なく縛りあげて，エルサレムにひっぱって來るためであった．

ところが，道を急いでダマスコの近くにきたとき，突然，天から光がさして，彼をめぐり照した．

彼は地に倒れたが，その時「サウロ，サウロ，なぜわたしを迫害するのか」と呼びかける聲を聞いた．

そこで彼は「主よ，あなたは，どなたですか」と尋ねた．すると答があった，「わたしは，あなたが迫害しているイエスである．

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.

さあ立って，町にはいって行きなさい．そうすれば，そこであなたのなすべき事が告げられるであろう」．

サウロの同行者たちは物も言えずに立っていて，聲だけは聞えたが，だれも見えなかった．

サウロは地から起き上がって目を開いてみたが，何も見えなかった．そこで人¿は，彼の手を引いてダマスコへ連れて行った．

彼は三日間，目が見えず，また食べることも飮むこともしなかった．

さて，ダマスコにアナニヤというひとりの弟子がいた．この人に主が幻の中に現れて，「アナニヤよ」とお呼びになった．彼は「主よ，わたしでございます」と答えた．

And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.

Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

そこで主が彼に言われた，「立って，『眞すぐ』という名の路地に行き，ユダの家でサウロというタルソ人を尋ねなさい．彼はいま祈っている．

彼はアナニヤという人がはいってきて，手を自分の上において再び見えるようにしてくれるのを，幻で見たのである」．

アナニヤは答えた，「主よ，あの人がエルサレムで，どんなにひどい事をあなたの聖徒たちにしたかについては，多くの人たちから聞いています．

そして彼はここでも，御名をとなえる者たちをみな捕縛する權を，祭司長たちから得てきているのです」．

しかし，主は仰せになった，「さあ，行きなさい．あの人は，異邦人たち，王たち，またイスラエルの子らにも，わたしの名を傳える器として，わたしが選んだ者である．

For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.

And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

わたしの名のために彼がどんなに苦しまなければならないかを，彼に知らせよう」．

そこでアナニヤは，出かけて行ってその家にはいり，手をサウロの上において言った，「兄弟サウロよ，あなたが來る途中で現れた主イエスは，あなたが再び見えるようになるため，そして聖靈に滿たされるために，わたしをここにおつかわしになったのです」．

するとたちどころに，サウロの目から，うろこのようなものが落ちて，元どおり見えるようになった．そこで彼は立ってバプテスマを受け，

また食事をとって元氣を取りもどした．サウロは，ダマスコにいる弟子たちと共に數日間を過ごしてから，

ただちに諸會堂でイエスのことを宣べ傳え，このイエスこそ神の子であると說きはじめた．

But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:

But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.

Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.

これを聞いた人たちはみな非常に驚いて言った，「あれは，エルサレムでこの名をとなえる者たちを苦しめた男ではないか．その上ここにやってきたのも，彼らを縛りあげて，祭司長たちのところへひっぱって行くためではなかったか」．

しかし，サウロはますます力が加わり，このイエスがキリストであることを論證して，ダマスコに住むユダヤ人たちを言い伏せた．

相當の日數がたったころ，ユダヤ人たちはサウロを殺す相談をした．

ところが，その陰謀が彼の知るところとなった．彼らはサウロを殺そうとして，夜¿，町の門を見守� チていたのである．

そこで彼の弟子たちが，夜の間に彼をかごに乘せて，町の城壁づたいにつりおろした．

And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.

But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.

And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.

Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

サウロはエルサレムに着いて，弟子たちの仲間に加わろうと努めたが，みんなの者は彼を弟子だとは信じないで，恐れていた．

ところが，バルナバは彼の世話をして使徒たちのところへ連れて行き，途中で主が彼に現れて語りかけたことや，彼がダマスコでイエスの名を大膽に宣べ傳えた次第を，彼らに說明して聞かせた．

それ以來，彼は使徒たちの仲間に加わり，エルサレムに出入りし，主の名によって大膽に語り，

ギリシヤ語を使うユダヤ人たちとしばしば語り合い，また論じ合った．しかし，彼らは彼を殺そうとねらっていた．

兄弟たちはそれと知って，彼をカイザリヤに連れてくだり，タルソへ送り出した．

Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

こうして敎會は，ユダヤ，ガリラヤ，サマリヤ全地方にわたって平安を保ち，基礎がかたまり，主をおそれ聖靈にはげまされて步み，次第に信徒の數を增して行った．
