- Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
- Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
- Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
- The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
- Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

- さて， あなたがたが 書いてよこした 事について 答えると， 男子は 婦人にふれないがよい．
- しかし， 不品行に 陷ることのないために， 男子はそれぞれ 自分の 妻を 持ち， 婦人もそれぞれ 自分の 夫を 持つがよい．
- 夫は 妻にその 分を 果し， 妻も 同樣に 夫にその 分を 果すべきである．
- 妻は 自分のからだを 自由にすることはできない． それができるのは 夫である． 夫も 同樣に 自分のからだを 自由にすることはできない． それができるのは 妻である．
- 互に 拒んではいけない． ただし， 合意の 上で 祈に 專心するために， しばらく 相別れ， それからまた 一緖になることは， さしつかえない． そうでないと， 自制力のないのに 乘じて， サタン があなたがたを 誘惑するかも 知れない．

- But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
- For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
- I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
- But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
- And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:

- 以上のことは， 讓步のつもりで 言うのであって， 命令するのではない．
- わたしとしては， みんなの 者がわたし 自身のようになってほしい． しかし， ひとりびとり 神からそれぞれの 賜物をいただいていて， ある 人はこうしており， 他の 人はそうしている．
- 次に， 未婚者たちとやもめたちとに 言うが， わたしのように， ひとりでおれば， それがいちばんよい．
- しかし， もし 自制することができないなら， 結婚するがよい． 情の 燃えるよりは， 結婚する 方が， よいからである．
- 更に， 結婚している 者たちに 命じる． 命じるのは， わたしではなく 主であるが， 妻は 夫から 別れてはいけない．

- But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
- But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
- And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
- For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
- But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

- （しかし， 万一別れているなら， 結婚しないでいるか， それとも 夫と 和解するかしなさい ）． また 夫も 妻と 離婚してはならない．
- そのほかの 人¿に 言う． これを 言うのは， 主ではなく， わたしである． ある 兄弟に 不信者の 妻があり， そして 共にいることを 喜んでいる 場合には， 離婚してはいけない．
- また， ある 婦人の 夫が 不信者であり， そして 共にいることを 喜んでいる 場合には， 離婚してはいけない．
- なぜなら， 不信者の 夫は 妻によってきよめられており， また， 不信者の 妻も 夫によってきよめられているからである． もしそうでなければ， あなたがたの 子は 汚れていることになるが， 實際はきよいではないか．
- しかし， もし 不信者の 方が 離れて 行くのなら， 離れるままにしておくがよい． 兄弟も 姉妹も， こうした 場合には， 束縛されてはいない． 神は， あなたがたを 平和に 暮させるために， 召されたのである．

- For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?
- But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.
- Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.
- Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.
- Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

- なぜなら， 妻よ， あなたが 夫を 救いうるかどうか， どうしてわかるか． また， 夫よ， あなたも 妻を 救いうるかどうか， どうしてわかるか．
- ただ， 各自は， 主から 賜わった 分に 應じ， また 神に 召されたままの 狀態にしたがって， 步むべきである． これが， すべての 敎會に 對してわたしの 命じるところである．
- 召されたとき 割禮を 受けていたら， その 跡をなくそうとしないがよい． また， 召されたとき 割禮を 受けていなかったら， 割禮を 受けようとしないがよい．
- 割禮があってもなくても， それは 問題ではない． 大事なのは， ただ 神の 戒めを 守ることである．
- 各自は， 召されたままの 狀態にとどまっているべきである．

- Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.
- For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant.
- Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
- Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.

- 召されたとき 奴隷であっても， それを 氣にしないがよい． しかし， もし 自由の 身になりうるなら， むしろ 自由になりなさい．
- 主にあって 召された 奴隷は， 主によって 自由人とされた 者であり， また， 召された 自由人は キリスト の 奴隷なのである．
- あなたがたは， 代價を 拂って 買いとられたのだ． 人の 奴隷となってはいけない．
- 兄弟たちよ． 各自は， その 召されたままの 狀態で， 神のみまえにいるべきである．
