- Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
- Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
- That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
- And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
- Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

- 子たる 者よ． 主にあって 兩親に 從いなさい． これは 正しいことである．
- 「あなたの 父と 母とを 敬え 」． これが 第一の 戒めであって， 次の 約束がそれについている，
- 「そうすれば， あなたは 幸福になり， 地上でながく 生きながらえるであろう 」．
- 父たる 者よ． 子供をおこらせないで， 主の 薰陶と 訓戒とによって， 彼らを 育てなさい．
- 僕たる 者よ． キリスト に 從うように， 恐れおののきつつ， 眞心をこめて， 肉による 主人に 從いなさい．

- Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
- With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
- Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
- And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
- Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

- 人にへつらおうとして 目先だけの 勤めをするのでなく， キリスト の 僕として 心から 神の 御旨を 行い，
- 人にではなく 主に 仕えるように， 快く 仕えなさい．
- あなたがたが 知っているとおり， だれでも 良いことを 行えば， 僕であれ， 自由人であれ， それに 相當する 報いを， それぞれ 主から 受けるであろう．
- 主人たる 者よ． 僕たちに 對して， 同樣にしなさい． おどすことを， してはならない． あなたがたが 知っているとおり， 彼らとあなたがたとの 主は 天にいますのであり， かつ 人をかたより 見ることをなさらないのである．
- 最後に 言う． 主にあって， その 偉大な 力によって， 强くなりなさい．

- Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
- For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
- Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
- Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
- And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

- 惡魔の 策略に 對抗して 立ちうるために， 神の 武具で 身を 固めなさい．
- わたしたちの 戰いは， 血肉に 對するものではなく， もろもろの 支配と， 權威と， やみの 世の 主權者， また 天上にいる 惡の 靈に 對する 戰いである．
- それだから， 惡しき 日にあたって， よく 抵抗し， 完全に 勝ち 拔いて， 堅く 立ちうるために， 神の 武具を 身につけなさい．
- すなわち， 立って 眞理の 帶を 腰にしめ， 正義の 胸當を 胸につけ，
- 平和の 福音の 備えを 足にはき，

- Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
- And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
- Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
- And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
- For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

- その 上に， 信仰のたてを 手に 取りなさい． それをもって， 惡しき 者の 放つ 火の 矢を 消すことができるであろう．
- また， 救のかぶとをかぶり， 御靈の 劍， すなわち， 神の 言を 取りなさい．
- 絶えず 祈と 願いをし， どんな 時でも 御靈によって 祈り， そのために 目をさましてうむことがなく， すべての 聖徒のために 祈りつづけなさい．
- また， わたしが 口を 開くときに 語るべき 言葉を 賜わり， 大膽に 福音の 奧義を 明らかに 示しうるように， わたしのためにも 祈ってほしい．
- わたしはこの 福音のための 使節であり， そして 鎖につながれているのであるが， つながれていても， 語るべき 時には 大膽に 語れるように 祈ってほしい．

- But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:
- Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.
- Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

- わたしがどういう 樣子か， 何をしているかを， あなたがたに 知ってもらうために， 主にあって 忠實に 仕えている 愛する 兄弟 テキコ が， いっさいの 事を 報告するであろう．
- 彼をあなたがたのもとに 送るのは， あなたがたがわたしたちの 樣子を 知り， また 彼によって 心に 勵ましを 受けるようになるためなのである．
- 父なる 神とわたしたちの 主 イエス · キリスト から 平安ならびに 信仰に 伴う 愛が， 兄弟たちにあるように．
- 變らない 眞實をもって， わたしたちの 主 イエス · キリスト を 愛するすべての 人¿に， 惠みがあるように．
