- I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
- For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
- For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
- Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
- For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

- そこで， まず 第一に 勸める． すべての 人のために， 王たちと 上に 立っているすべての 人¿のために， 願いと， 祈と， とりなしと， 感謝とをささげなさい．
- それはわたしたちが， 安らかで 靜かな 一生を， 眞に 信心深くまた 謹嚴に 過ごすためである．
- これは， わたしたちの 救主である 神のみまえに 良いことであり， また， みこころにかなうことである．
- 神は， すべての 人が 救われて， 眞理を 悟るに 至ることを 望んでおられる．
- 神は 唯一であり， 神と 人との 間の 仲保者もただひとりであって， それは 人なる キリスト · イエス である．

- そのために， わたしは 立てられて 宣敎者， 使徒となり（わたしは 眞實を 言っている， 僞ってはいない ）， また 異邦人に 信仰と 眞理とを 敎える 敎師となったのである．
- 男は， 怒ったり 爭ったりしないで， どんな 場所でも， きよい 手をあげて 祈ってほしい．
