- Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
- Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
- And this will we do, if God permit.
- For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
- And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

- そういうわけだから， わたしたちは， キリスト の 敎の 初步をあとにして， 完成を 目ざして 進もうではないか． 今さら， 死んだ 行いの 悔改めと 神への 信仰，
- 洗いごとについての 敎と 按手， 死人の 復活と 永遠のさばき， などの 基本の 敎をくりかえし 學ぶことをやめようではないか．
- 神の 許しを 得て， そうすることにしよう．
- いったん， 光を 受けて 天よりの 賜物を 味わい， 聖靈にあずかる 者となり，
- また， 神の 良きみ 言葉と， きたるべき 世の 力とを 味わった 者たちが，

- If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
- For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
- But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
- But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
- For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

- そののち 墮落した 場合には， またもや 神の 御子を， 自ら 十字架につけて， さらしものにするわけであるから， ふたたび 悔改めにたち 歸ることは 不可能である．
- たとえば， 土地が， その 上にたびたび 降る 雨を 吸い ¿んで， 耕す 人¿に 役立つ 作物を 育てるなら， 神の 祝福にあずかる．
- しかし， いばらやあざみをはえさせるなら， それは 無用になり， やがてのろわれ， ついには 燒かれてしまう．
- しかし， 愛する 者たちよ． こうは 言うものの， わたしたちは， 救にかかわる 更に 良いことがあるのを， あなたがたについて 確信している．
- 神は 不義なかたではないから， あなたがたの ¿きや， あなたがたがかつて 聖徒に 仕え， 今もなお 仕えて， 御名のために 示してくれた 愛を， お 忘れになることはない．

- And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
- That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

- わたしたちは， あなたがたがひとり 殘らず， 最後まで 望みを 持ちつづけるためにも， 同じ 熱意を 示し，
- 怠ることがなく， 信仰と 忍耐とをもって 約束のものを 受け 繼ぐ 人¿に 見習う 者となるように， と 願ってやまない．
