- Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
- Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
- For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
- Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
- For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

- 最後に 言う． あなたがたは 皆， 心をひとつにし， 同情し 合い， 兄弟愛をもち， あわれみ 深くあり， 謙虛でありなさい．
- 惡をもって 惡に 報いず， 惡口をもって 惡口に 報いず， かえって， 祝福をもって 報いなさい． あなたがたが 召されたのは， 祝福を 受け 繼ぐためなのである．
- 「いのちを 愛し， ／さいわいな 日¿を 過ごそうと 願う 人は， ／舌を 制して 惡を 言わず， ／くちびるを 閉じて 僞りを 語らず，
- 惡を 避けて 善を 行い， ／平和を 求めて， これを 追え．
- 主の 目は 義人たちに 注がれ， ／主の 耳は 彼らの 祈にかたむく． しかし 主の 御顔は， 惡を 行う 者に 對して 向かう 」．

- And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
- But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
- But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
- Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
- For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

- そこで， もしあなたがたが 善に 熱心であれば， だれが， あなたがたに 危害を 加えようか．
- しかし， 万一義のために 苦しむようなことがあっても， あなたがたはさいわいである． 彼らを 恐れたり， 心を 亂したりしてはならない．
- ただ， 心の 中で キリスト を 主とあがめなさい． また， あなたがたのうちにある 望みについて 說明を 求める 人には， いつでも 弁明のできる 用意をしていなさい．
- しかし， やさしく， 愼み 深く， 明らかな 良心をもって， 弁明しなさい． そうすれば， あなたがたが キリスト にあって 營んでいる 良い 生活をそしる 人¿も， そのようにののしったことを 恥じいるであろう．
- 善をおこなって 苦しむことは ――それが 神の 御旨であれば ――惡をおこなって 苦しむよりも， まさっている．

- For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
- By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
- Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
- The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
- Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

- キリスト も， あなたがたを 神に 近づけようとして， 自らは 義なるかたであるのに， 不義なる 人¿のために， ひとたび 罪のゆえに 死なれた． ただし， 肉においては 殺されたが， 靈においては 生かされたのである．
- こうして， 彼は 獄に 捕われている 靈どものところに 下って 行き， 宣べ 傳えることをされた．
- これらの 靈というのは， むかし ノア の 箱舟が 造られていた 間， 神が 寬容をもって 待っておられたのに 從わなかった 者どものことである． その 箱舟に 乘り ¿み， 水を 經て 救われたのは， わずかに 八名だけであった．
- この 水は バブテスマ を 象徵するものであって， 今やあなたがたをも 救うのである． それは， イエス · キリスト の 復活によるのであって， からだの 汚れを 除くことではなく， 明らかな 良心を 神に 願い 求めることである．
- キリスト は 天に 上って 神の 右に 座し， 天使たちともろもろの 權威， 權力を 從えておられるのである．
