스바냐

스바냐가 예언 활동하던 당시의 유다는 종교적 죄악과 지도자들의 압제와 포학이 만연해 있었다. 이에 스바냐는 ‘야웨의 큰 날’에 전 세계와 유다에게 임할 하나님의 심판을 경고하여 회개를 촉구하였고, 그날 하나님께서 회심한 이방인과 그의 백성을 구원할 것을 선포했다.

스바냐는 유다 주변 국가들에게 임할 심판을 예언하고 예루살렘의 죄를 언급한 후, 하나님께서 그의 백성을 다시 모으고 구속하시며 회복시키시는 때가 올 것이라고 예언하고 있다.

	스바냐 1:1-3:20 스바냐는 우상 숭배와 유다의 지도자, 상인, 그리고 야웨를 경외하지 않는 사람들이 행한 모든 죄를 지적하면서 야웨의 날의 심판이 가까웠음을 말하였다. 그는 예루살렘에 임할 하나님의 심판을 선포한 후, 그 후에 이루어질 열방과 이스라엘의 남은 자에 대한 구원과 회복을 예언하였다.

	야웨의 날(1:1-3:20)

The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.

I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD.

I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumbling blocks with the wicked: and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD.

I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;

And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;

ユダの王アモンの子ヨシヤの世に，ゼパニヤに臨んだ主の言葉．ゼパニヤはクシの子，クシはゲダリヤの子，ゲダリヤはアマリヤの子，アマリヤはヒゼキヤの子である．

主は言われる，「わたしは地のおもてからすべてのものを一掃する」．

主は言われる，「わたしは人も ¿も一掃し，空の鳥，海の魚をも一掃する．わたしは惡人を倒す．わたしは地のおもてから人を絶ち滅ぼす」．

「わたしはユダとエルサレムの／すべての住民との上に手を伸べる．わたしはこの所からバアルの殘黨と，偶像の祭司の名とを斷つ．

また屋上で天の万象を拜む者，主に誓いを立てて拜みながら，またミルコムをさして誓う者，

And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.

Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.

And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD's sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.

In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills.

主にそむいて從わない者，主を求めず，主を尋ねない者を斷つ」．

主なる神の前に沈默せよ．主の日は近づき，主はすでに ¿牲を備え，その招いた者を聖別されたからである．

主の ¿牲をささげる日に，「わたしはつかさたちと王の子たち，およびすべて異邦の衣服を着る者を罰する．

その日にわたしはまた，すべて敷居をとび越え，暴虐と欺きとを自分の主君の家に滿たす者を罰する」．

主は言われる，「その日には魚の門から叫び聲がおこり，第二の町からうめき聲がおこり，もろもろの丘からすさまじい響きがおこる．

Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.

And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.

Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.

The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

しっくいの家の住民よ，泣き叫べ．あきないする民は皆滅ぼされ，銀を量る者は皆斷たれるからである．

その時，わたしはともしびをもって，エルサレムを尋ねる．そして滓の上に凝り固まり，その心の中で／『主は良いことも，惡いこともしない』と／言う人¿をわたしは罰する．

彼らの財寶はかすめられ，彼らの家は荒れはてる．彼らは家を建てても，それに住むことができない，ぶどう畑を作っても，そのぶどう酒を飮むことができない」．

主の大いなる日は近い，近づいて，すみやかに來る．主の日の聲は耳にいたい．そこに，勇士もいたく叫ぶ．

その日は怒りの日，なやみと苦しみの日，荒れ，また滅びる日，暗く，薄暗い日，雲と黑雲の日，

A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.

And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.

Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

ラッパとときの聲の日，堅固な町と高いやぐらを攻める日である．

わたしは人¿になやみを下して，盲人のように步かせる．彼らが主に對して罪を犯したからである．彼らの血はちりのように流され，彼らの肉は糞土のように捨てられる．

彼らの銀も金も，主の怒りの日には彼らを救うことができない．全地は主のねたみの火にのまれる．主は地に住む人¿をたちまち滅ぼし盡される．

Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;

Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD's anger come upon you.

Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD's anger.

For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.

Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.

あなたがた，恥を知らぬ民よ，共につどい，集まれ．

すなわち，もみがらのように追いやられる前に，主の激しい怒りがまだあなたがたに臨まない前に，主の憤りの日がまだあなたがたに來ない前に．

すべて主の命令を行うこの地のへりくだる者よ，主を求めよ．正義を求めよ．謙遜を求めよ．そうすればあなたがたは主の怒りの日に，あるいは隱されることがあろう．

ともあれ，ガザは捨てられ，アシケロンは荒れはて，アシドドは眞¿に追い拂われ，エクロンは拔き去られる．

わざわいなるかな，海べに住む者，ケレテの國民．ペリシテびとの地，カナンよ，主の言葉があなたがたに臨む．わたしはあなたを滅ぼして，住む者がないようにする．

And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.

And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.

I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.

Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.

This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.

海べよ，あなたは牧場となり，羊飼の牧草地となり，また羊のおりとなる．

海べはユダの家の殘りの者に歸する．彼らはその所で群れを養い，夕暮にはアシケロンの家に伏す．彼らの神，主が彼らを顧み，その幸福を回復されるからである．

「わたしはモアブのあざけりと，アンモンの人¿の，ののしりを聞いた．彼らはわが民をあざけり，自ら誇って彼らの國境を侵した．

それゆえ，万軍の主，イスラエルの神は言われる，わたしは生きている．モアブは必ずソドムのようになる．アンモンの人¿はゴモラのようになる．いらくさと鹽穴とがここを占領して，永遠に荒れ地となる．わが民の殘りの者は彼らをかすめ，わが國民の殘りの者はこれを所有する」．

この事の彼らに臨むのはその高ぶりによるのだ．彼らが万軍の主の民をあざけり，みずから誇ったからである．

The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.

And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.

And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds; for he shall uncover the cedar work.

This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.

主は彼らに對して恐るべき者となられる．主は地のすべての神¿を飢えさせられる．もろもろの國の民は，おのおの自分の所から出て主を拜む．

エチオピヤびとよ，あなたがたもまた／わがつるぎによって殺される．

主はまた北に向かって手を伸べ，アッスリヤを滅ぼし，ニネベを荒して，荒野のような，かわいた地とされる．

家畜の群れ，もろもろの野の ¿はその中に伏し，はげたかや，やまあらしはその柱の頂に住み，ふくろうは，その窓のうちになき，からすは，その敷居の上に鳴く．その香柏の細工が裸にされるからである．

この町は勝ち誇って，安らかに落ち着き，その心の中で，「ただわたしだけだ，わたしの外にはだれもない」と／言った町であるが，このように荒れはてて， ¿の伏す所になってしまった．ここを通り過ぎる者は／皆あざけって，手を振る．

Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!

She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.

Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.

Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.

The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.

わざわいなるかな，このそむき汚れた暴虐の町．

これはだれの聲にも耳を傾けず，懲らしめを受けいれず，主に寄り賴まず，おのれの神に近よらない．

その中にいるつかさたちは，ほえるしし，そのさばきびとたちは，夜のおおかみで，彼らは朝まで何一つ殘さない．

その預言者たちは，放縱で僞りびと，その祭司たちは聖なる物を汚し，律法を破る．

その中にいます主は義であって，不義を行われない．朝ごとにその公義を現して，誤ることがない．しかし不義な者は恥を知らない．

I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.

I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.

Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.

From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.

「わたしは諸國民を滅ぼした．そのやぐらは荒れはてた．わたしはそのちまたを荒したので，ちまたを行き來する者もない．その町¿は荒れすたれて，人の姿もなく，住む者もない．

わたしは言った，『これは必ずわたしを恐れ，懲らしめを受ける．これはわたしが命じたすべての事を見失わない』と．しかし彼らはしきりに自分の行狀を亂した」．

主は言われる，「それゆえ，あなたがたは，わたしが立って，證言する日を待て．わたしの決意は諸國民をよせ集め，もろもろの國を集めて，わが憤り，わが激しい怒りを／ことごとくその上に注ぐことであって，全地は，ねたむわたしの怒りの火に／燒き滅ぼされるからである．

その時わたしはもろもろの民に淸きくちびるを與え，すべて彼らに主の名を呼ばせ，心を一つにして主に仕えさせる．

わたしを拜む者，わたしが散らした者の娘は／エチオピヤの川¿の向こうから來て，わたしに供え物をささげる．

In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.

I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.

The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.

その日には，あなたはわたしにそむいたすべてのわざのゆえに，はずかしめられることはない．その時わたしはあなたのうちから，高ぶって誇る者どもを除くゆえ，あなたは重ねてわが聖なる山で，高ぶることはない．

わたしは柔和にしてへりくだる民を，あなたのうちに殘す．彼らは主の名を避け所とする．

イスラエルの殘りの者は不義を行わず，僞りを言わず，その口には欺きの舌を見ない．それゆえ，彼らは食を得て伏し，彼らをおびやかす者はいない」．

In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.

The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.

Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.

At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.

その日，人¿はエルサレムに向かって言う，「シオンよ，恐れるな．あなたの手を弱¿しくたれるな．

あなたの神，主はあなたのうちにいまし，勇士であって，勝利を與えられる．彼はあなたのために喜び樂しみ，その愛によってあなたを新にし，祭の日のようにあなたのために喜び呼ばわられる」．

「わたしはあなたから惱みを取り去る．あなたは恥を受けることはない．

見よ，その時あなたをしえたげる者を／わたしはことごとく處分し，足なえを救い，追いやられた者を集め，彼らの恥を譽にかえ，全地にほめられるようにする．

その時，わたしはあなたがたを連れかえる．わたしがあなたがたを集めるとき，わたしがあなたがたの目の前に，あなたがたの幸福を回復するとき，地のすべての民の中で，あなたがたに名を得させ，譽を得させる」と／主は言われる．
