- And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
- And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
- But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
- And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
- And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

- それからすぐ， イエス は 弟子たちを 强いて 舟に 乘せ， 向こう 岸へ 先に 行かせ， その 間に 群衆を 解散させられた．
- 群衆を 解散させてから， 祈るためにひとり 山にお 登りになった． 夕方になっても， ただひとりそこにおられた．
- ところが， 舟は 旣に 陸から 何 スタディオン か 離れており， 逆風のために 波に 惱まされていた．
- 夜が 明けるころ， イエス は 湖の 上を 步いて 弟子たちのところに 行かれた．
- 弟子たちは， イエス が 湖上を 步いておられるのを 見て， 「幽靈だ 」と 言っておびえ， 恐怖のあまり 叫び 聲をあげた．

- But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
- And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
- And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
- But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
- And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

- イエス はすぐ 彼らに 話しかけられた． 「安心しなさい． わたしだ． 恐れることはない． 」
- すると， ペトロ が 答えた． 「主よ， あなたでしたら， わたしに 命令して， 水の 上を 步いてそちらに 行かせてください． 」
- イエス が「來なさい 」と 言われたので， ペトロ は 舟から 降りて 水の 上を 步き， イエス の 方へ 進んだ．
- しかし， 强い 風に 氣がついて 怖くなり， 沈みかけたので， 「主よ， 助けてください 」と 叫んだ．
- イエス はすぐに 手を 伸ばして 捕まえ， 「信仰の 薄い 者よ， なぜ 疑ったのか 」と 言われた．

- And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
- Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
- And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.
- And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;
- And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

- そして， 二人が 舟に 乘り ¿むと， 風は 靜まった．
- 舟の 中にいた 人たちは， 「本當に， あなたは 神の 子です 」と 言って イエス を 拜んだ．
- こうして， 一行は 湖を 渡り， ゲネサレト という 土地に 着いた．
- 土地の 人¿は， イエス だと 知って， 付近にくまなく 觸れ 回った． それで， 人¿は 病人を 皆 イエス のところに 連れて 來て，
- その 服のすそにでも 觸れさせてほしいと 願った． 觸れた 者は 皆いやされた．
