- And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;
- And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.
- The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
- And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
- And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

- イエス はこれらの 言葉を 語り 終えると， ガリラヤ を 去り， ヨルダン 川の 向こう 側の ユダヤ 地方に 行かれた．
- 大勢の 群衆が 從った． イエス はそこで 人¿の 病氣をいやされた．
- ファリサイ 派の 人¿が 近寄り， イエス を 試そうとして， 「何か 理由があれば， 夫が 妻を 離緣することは， 律法に 適っているでしょうか 」と 言った．
- イエス はお 答えになった． 「あなたたちは 讀んだことがないのか． 創造主は 初めから 人を 男と 女とにお 造りになった． 」
- そして， こうも 言われた． 「それゆえ， 人は 父母を 離れてその 妻と 結ばれ， 二人は 一體となる．

- Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
- They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
- He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
- And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
- His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

- だから， 二人はもはや 別¿ではなく， 一體である． 從って， 神が 結び 合わせてくださったものを， 人は 離してはならない． 」
- すると， 彼らは イエス に 言った． 「では， なぜ モ ― セ は， 離緣狀を 渡して 離緣するように 命じたのですか． 」
- イエス は 言われた． 「あなたたちの 心が 頑固なので， モ ― セ は 妻を 離緣することを 許したのであって， 初めからそうだったわけではない．
- 言っておくが， 不法な 結婚でもないのに 妻を 離緣して， 他の 女を 妻にする 者は， 姦通の 罪を 犯すことになる． 」
- 弟子たちは， 「夫婦の 間柄がそんなものなら， 妻を 迎えない 方がましです 」と 言った．

- But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.
- For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
- Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
- But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
- And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

- イエス は 言われた． 「だれもがこの 言葉を 受け 入れるのではなく， 惠まれた 者だけである．
- 結婚できないように 生まれついた 者， 人から 結婚できないようにされた 者もいるが， 天の 國のために 結婚しない 者もいる． これを 受け 入れることのできる 人は 受け 入れなさい． 」
- そのとき， イエス に 手を 置いて 祈っていただくために， 人¿が 子供たちを 連れて 來た． 弟子たちはこの 人¿を 叱った．
- しかし， イエス は 言われた． 「子供たちを 來させなさい． わたしのところに 來るのを 妨げてはならない． 天の 國はこのような 者たちのものである． 」
- そして， 子供たちに 手を 置いてから， そこを 立ち 去られた．
