- And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
- And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
- He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
- Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
- The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

- さて， 一人の 男が イエス に 近寄って 來て 言った． 「先生， 永遠の 命を 得るには， どんな 善いことをすればよいのでしょうか． 」
- イエス は 言われた． 「なぜ， 善いことについて， わたしに 尋ねるのか． 善い 方はおひとりである． もし 命を 得たいのなら， ¿を 守りなさい． 」
- 男が「どの ¿ですか 」と 尋ねると， イエス は 言われた． 「『殺すな， 姦淫するな， 盜むな， 僞證するな，
- 父母を 敬え， また， 隣人を 自分のように 愛しなさい． 』」
- そこで， この 靑年は 言った． 「そういうことはみな 守ってきました． まだ 何か 欠けているでしょうか． 」

- Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
- But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
- Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
- And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
- When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

- イエス は 言われた． 「もし 完全になりたいのなら， 行って 持ち 物を 賣り 拂い， 貧しい 人¿に 施しなさい． そうすれば， 天に 富を 積むことになる． それから， わたしに 從いなさい． 」
- 靑年はこの 言葉を 聞き， 悲しみながら 立ち 去った． たくさんの 財産を 持っていたからである．
- イエス は 弟子たちに 言われた． 「はっきり 言っておく． 金持ちが 天の 國に 入るのは 難しい．
- 重ねて 言うが， 金持ちが 神の 國に 入るよりも， らくだが 針の 穴を 通る 方がまだ 易しい． 」
- 弟子たちはこれを 聞いて 非常に 驚き， 「それでは， だれが 救われるのだろうか 」と 言った．

- But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

- イエス は 彼らを 見つめて， 「それは 人間にできることではないが， 神は 何でもできる 」と 言われた．
