- And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
- Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
- And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
- And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.
- And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.

- イエス がまだ 話しておられると， 十二人の 一人である ユダ がやって 來た． 祭司長たちや 民の 長老たちの 遣わした 大勢の 群衆も， 劍や 棒を 持って 一緖に 來た．
- イエス を 裏切ろうとしていた ユダ は， 「わたしが 接吻するのが， その 人だ． それを 捕まえろ 」と， 前もって 合圖を 決めていた．
- ユダ はすぐ イエス に 近寄り， 「先生， こんばんは 」と 言って 接吻した．
- イエス は， 「友よ， しようとしていることをするがよい 」と 言われた． すると 人¿は 進み 寄り， イエス に 手をかけて 捕らえた．
- そのとき， イエス と 一緖にいた 者の 一人が， 手を 伸ばして 劍を 拔き， 大祭司の 手下に 打ちかかって， 片方の 耳を 切り 落とした．

- Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
- Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
- But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
- In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
- But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

- そこで， イエス は 言われた． 「劍をさやに 納めなさい． 劍を 取る 者は 皆， 劍で 滅びる．
- わたしが 父にお 願いできないとでも 思うのか． お 願いすれば， 父は 十二軍團以上の 天使を 今すぐ 送ってくださるであろう．
- しかしそれでは， 必ずこうなると 書かれている 聖書の 言葉がどうして 實現されよう． 」
- またそのとき， 群衆に 言われた． 「まるで 强盜にでも 向かうように， 劍や 棒を 持って 捕らえに 來たのか． わたしは 每日， 神殿の 境內に 座って 敎えていたのに， あなたたちはわたしを 捕らえなかった．
- このすべてのことが 起こったのは， 預言者たちの 書いたことが 實現するためである． 」このとき， 弟子たちは 皆， イエス を 見捨てて 逃げてしまった．

- And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
- But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
- Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
- But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
- And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

- 人¿は イエス を 捕らえると， 大祭司 カイアファ のところへ 連れて 行った． そこには， 律法學者たちや 長老たちが 集まっていた．
- ペトロ は 遠く 離れて イエス に 從い， 大祭司の 屋敷の 中庭まで 行き， 事の 成り 行きを 見ようと， 中に 入って， 下役たちと 一緖に 座っていた．
- さて， 祭司長たちと 最高法院の 全員は， 死刑にしようとして イエス にとって 不利な 僞證を 求めた．
- 僞證人は 何人も 現れたが， 證據は 得られなかった． 最後に 二人の 者が 來て，
- 「この 男は， 『神の 神殿を 打ち 倒し， 三日あれば 建てることができる 』と 言いました 」と 告げた．

- And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
- But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
- Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
- Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
- What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

- そこで， 大祭司は 立ち 上がり， イエス に 言った． 「何も 答えないのか， この 者たちがお 前に 不利な 證言をしているが， どうなのか． 」
- イエス は 默り 續けておられた． 大祭司は 言った． 「生ける 神に 誓って 我¿に 答えよ． お 前は 神の 子， メシア なのか． 」
- イエス は 言われた． 「それは， あなたが 言ったことです． しかし， わたしは 言っておく． あなたたちはやがて， ／人の 子が 全能の 神の 右に 座り， ／天の 雲に 乘って 來るのを 見る． 」
- そこで， 大祭司は 服を 引き 裂きながら 言った． 「神を 冒瀆した． これでもまだ 證人が 必要だろうか． 諸君は 今， 冒瀆の 言葉を 聞いた．
- どう 思うか． 」人¿は， 「死刑にすべきだ 」と 答えた．

- Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,
- Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?
|
- そして， イエス の 顔に 唾を 吐きかけ， こぶしで 毆り， ある 者は 平手で 打ちながら，
- 「メシア ， お 前を 毆ったのはだれか． 言い 當ててみろ 」と 言った．
