- And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.
- For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
- But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.
- And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?
- But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.

- 一行はそこを 去って， ガリラヤ を 通って 行った． しかし， イエス は 人に 氣づかれるのを 好まれなかった．
- それは 弟子たちに， 「人の 子は， 人¿の 手に 引き 渡され， 殺される． 殺されて 三日の 後に 復活する 」と 言っておられたからである．
- 弟子たちはこの 言葉が 分からなかったが， 怖くて 尋ねられなかった．
- 一行は カファルナウム に 來た． 家に 着いてから， イエス は 弟子たちに， 「途中で 何を 議論していたのか 」とお 尋ねになった．
- 彼らは 默っていた． 途中でだれがいちばん 偉いかと 議論し 合っていたからである．

- And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
- And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,
- Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.
- And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
- But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

- イエス が 座り， 十二人を 呼び 寄せて 言われた． 「いちばん 先になりたい 者は， すべての 人の 後になり， すべての 人に 仕える 者になりなさい． 」
- そして， 一人の 子供の 手を 取って 彼らの 眞ん 中に 立たせ， 抱き 上げて 言われた．
- 「わたしの 名のためにこのような 子供の 一人を 受け 入れる 者は， わたしを 受け 入れるのである． わたしを 受け 入れる 者は， わたしではなくて， わたしをお 遣わしになった 方を 受け 入れるのである． 」
- ヨハネ が イエス に 言った． 「先生， お 名前を 使って 惡靈を 追い 出している 者を 見ましたが， わたしたちに 從わないので， やめさせようとしました． 」
- イエス は 言われた． 「やめさせてはならない． わたしの 名を 使って 奇跡を 行い， そのすぐ 後で， わたしの 惡口は 言えまい．

- For he that is not against us is on our part.
- For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
- And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
- And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
- Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

- わたしたちに 逆らわない 者は， わたしたちの 味方なのである．
- はっきり 言っておく． キリスト の 弟子だという 理由で， あなたがたに 一杯の 水を 飮ませてくれる 者は， 必ずその 報いを 受ける． 」
- 「わたしを 信じるこれらの 小さな 者の 一人をつまずかせる 者は， 大きな 石臼を 首に 懸けられて， 海に 投げ ¿まれてしまう 方がはるかによい．
- もし 片方の 手があなたをつまずかせるなら， 切り 捨ててしまいなさい． 兩手がそろったまま 地獄の 消えない 火の 中に 落ちるよりは， 片手になっても 命にあずかる 方がよい．
- ＊地獄では ·が 盡きることも， 火が 消えることもない．

- And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
- Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
- And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
- Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
- For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

- もし 片方の 足があなたをつまずかせるなら， 切り 捨ててしまいなさい． 兩足がそろったままで 地獄に 投げ ¿まれるよりは， 片足になっても 命にあずかる 方がよい．
- ＊地獄では ·が 盡きることも， 火が 消えることもない．
- もし 片方の 目があなたをつまずかせるなら， えぐり 出しなさい． 兩方の 目がそろったまま 地獄に 投げ ¿まれるよりは， 一つの 目になっても 神の 國に 入る 方がよい．
- 地獄では ·が 盡きることも， 火が 消えることもない．
- 人は 皆， 火で 鹽味を 付けられる．

- Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

- 鹽は 良いものである． だが， 鹽に 鹽氣がなくなれば， あなたがたは 何によって 鹽に 味を 付けるのか． 自分自身の 內に 鹽を 持ちなさい． そして， 互いに 平和に 過ごしなさい． 」
