- And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
- To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
- And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
- And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
- And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

- 六か 月目に， 天使 ガブリエル は， ナザレ という ガリラヤ の 町に 神から 遣わされた．
- ダビデ 家の ヨセフ という 人のいいなずけであるおとめのところに 遣わされたのである． そのおとめの 名は マリア といった．
- 天使は， 彼女のところに 來て 言った． 「おめでとう， 惠まれた 方． 主があなたと 共におられる． 」
- マリア はこの 言葉に 戶惑い， いったいこの ¿¿は 何のことかと 考え ¿んだ．
- すると， 天使は 言った． 「マリア ， 恐れることはない． あなたは 神から 惠みをいただいた．

- And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
- He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
- And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
- Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
- And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

- あなたは 身ごもって 男の 子を 産むが， その 子を イエス と 名付けなさい．
- その 子は 偉大な 人になり， いと 高き 方の 子と 言われる． 神である 主は， 彼に 父 ダビデ の 王座をくださる．
- 彼は 永遠に ヤコブ の 家を 治め， その 支配は 終わることがない． 」
- マリア は 天使に 言った． 「どうして， そのようなことがありえましょうか． わたしは 男の 人を 知りませんのに． 」
- 天使は 答えた． 「聖靈があなたに 降り， いと 高き 方の 力があなたを 包む． だから， 生まれる 子は 聖なる 者， 神の 子と 呼ばれる．

- And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
- For with God nothing shall be impossible.
- And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
- And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;
- And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

- あなたの 親類の エリサベト も， 年をとっているが， 男の 子を 身ごもっている． 不妊の 女と 言われていたのに， もう 六か 月になっている．
- 神にできないことは 何一つない． 」
- マリア は 言った． 「わたしは 主のはしためです． お 言葉どおり， この 身に 成りますように． 」そこで， 天使は 去って 行った．
- そのころ， マリア は 出かけて， 急いで 山里に 向かい， ユダ の 町に 行った．
- そして， ザカリア の 家に 入って エリサベト に ¿¿した．

- And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
- And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
- And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
- For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
- And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

- マリア の ¿¿を エリサベト が 聞いたとき， その 胎內の 子がおどった． エリサベト は 聖靈に 滿たされて，
- 聲高らかに 言った． 「あなたは 女の 中で 祝福された 方です． 胎內のお 子さまも 祝福されています．
- わたしの 主のお 母さまがわたしのところに 來てくださるとは， どういうわけでしょう．
- あなたの ¿¿のお 聲をわたしが 耳にしたとき， 胎內の 子は 喜んでおどりました．
- 主がおっしゃったことは 必ず 實現すると 信じた 方は， なんと 幸いでしょう． 」

- And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
- And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
- For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
- For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
- And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

- そこで， マリア は 言った．
- 「わたしの 魂は 主をあがめ， ／わたしの 靈は 救い 主である 神を 喜びたたえます．
- 身分の 低い， この 主のはしためにも ／目を 留めてくださったからです． 今から 後， いつの 世の 人も ／わたしを 幸いな 者と 言うでしょう，
- 力ある 方が， ／わたしに 偉大なことをなさいましたから． その 御名は 尊く，
- その 憐れみは 代¿に 限りなく， ／主を 畏れる 者に 及びます．

- He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
- He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
- He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
- He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;
- As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

- 主はその 腕で 力を 振るい， ／思い 上がる 者を 打ち 散らし，
- 權力ある 者をその 座から 引き 降ろし， ／身分の 低い 者を 高く 上げ，
- 飢えた 人を 良い 物で 滿たし， ／富める 者を 空腹のまま 追い 返されます．
- その 僕 イスラエル を 受け 入れて， ／憐れみをお 忘れになりません，
- わたしたちの 先祖におっしゃったとおり， ／ アブラハム とその 子孫に 對してとこしえに． 」

- And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.

- マリア は， 三か 月ほど エリサベト のところに 滯在してから， 自分の 家に 歸った．
