- And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
- And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
- And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
- And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
- And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

- また， アシェル 族の ファヌエル の 娘で， アンナ という 女預言者がいた． 非常に 年をとっていて， 若いとき 嫁いでから 七年間夫と 共に 暮らしたが，
- 夫に 死に 別れ， 八十四歲になっていた． 彼女は 神殿を 離れず， 斷食したり 祈ったりして， 夜も ¿も 神に 仕えていたが，
- そのとき， 近づいて 來て 神を 贊美し， エルサレム の 救いを 待ち 望んでいる 人¿皆に 幼子のことを 話した．
- 親子は 主の 律法で 定められたことをみな 終えたので， 自分たちの 町である ガリラヤ の ナザレ に 歸った．
- 幼子はたくましく 育ち， 知惠に 滿ち， 神の 惠みに 包まれていた．

- Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
- And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
- And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
- But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
- And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

- さて， 兩親は 過越祭には 每年 エルサレム へ 旅をした．
- イエス が 十二歲になったときも， 兩親は 祭りの 慣習に 從って 都に 上った．
- 祭りの 期間が 終わって 歸路についたとき， 少年 イエス は エルサレム に 殘っておられたが， 兩親はそれに 氣づかなかった．
- イエス が 道連れの 中にいるものと 思い， 一日分の 道のりを 行ってしまい， それから， 親類や 知人の 間を 搜し 回ったが，
- 見つからなかったので， 搜しながら エルサレム に 引き 返した．

- And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
- And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
- And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
- And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
- And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

- 三日の 後， イエス が 神殿の 境內で 學者たちの 眞ん 中に 座り， 話を 聞いたり 質問したりしておられるのを 見つけた．
- 聞いている 人は 皆， イエス の 賢い 受け 答えに 驚いていた．
- 兩親は イエス を 見て 驚き， 母が 言った． 「なぜこんなことをしてくれたのです． 御覽なさい． お 父さんもわたしも 心配して 搜していたのです． 」
- すると， イエス は 言われた． 「どうしてわたしを 搜したのですか． わたしが 自分の 父の 家にいるのは 當たり 前だということを， 知らなかったのですか． 」
- しかし， 兩親には イエス の 言葉の 意味が 分からなかった．

- And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
- And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

- それから， イエス は 一緖に 下って 行き， ナザレ に 歸り， 兩親に 仕えてお 暮らしになった． 母はこれらのことをすべて 心に 納めていた．
- イエス は 知惠が 增し， 背丈も 伸び， 神と 人とに 愛された．
