- Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
- And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
- And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
- What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
- And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

- 徵稅人や 罪人が 皆， 話を 聞こうとして イエス に 近寄って 來た．
- すると， ファリサイ 派の 人¿や 律法學者たちは， 「この 人は 罪人たちを 迎えて， 食事まで 一緖にしている 」と 不平を 言いだした．
- そこで， イエス は 次のたとえを 話された．
- 「あなたがたの 中に， 百匹の 羊を 持っている 人がいて， その 一匹を 見失ったとすれば， 九十九匹を 野原に 殘して， 見失った 一匹を 見つけ 出すまで 搜し 回らないだろうか．
- そして， 見つけたら， 喜んでその 羊を 擔いで，

- And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
- I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
- Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
- And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
- Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

- 家に 歸り， 友達や 近所の 人¿を 呼び 集めて， 『見失った 羊を 見つけたので， 一緖に 喜んでください 』と 言うであろう．
- 言っておくが， このように， 悔い 改める 一人の 罪人については， 悔い 改める 必要のない 九十九人の 正しい 人についてよりも 大きな 喜びが 天にある． 」
- 「あるいは， ドラクメ 銀貨を 十枚持っている 女がいて， その 一枚を 無くしたとすれば， ともし 火をつけ， 家を 掃き， 見つけるまで 念を 入れて 搜さないだろうか．
- そして， 見つけたら， 友達や 近所の 女たちを 呼び 集めて， 『無くした 銀貨を 見つけましたから， 一緖に 喜んでください 』と 言うであろう．
- 言っておくが， このように， 一人の 罪人が 悔い 改めれば， 神の 天使たちの 間に 喜びがある． 」

- And he said, A certain man had two sons:
- And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
- And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
- And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
- And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

- また， イエス は 言われた． 「ある 人に 息子が 二人いた．
- 弟の 方が 父親に， 『お 父さん， わたしが 頂くことになっている 財産の 分け 前をください 』と 言った． それで， 父親は 財産を 二人に 分けてやった．
- 何日もたたないうちに， 下の 息子は 全部を 金に 換えて， 遠い 國に 旅立ち， そこで 放蕩の 限りを 盡くして， 財産を 無馱使いしてしまった．
- 何もかも 使い 果たしたとき， その 地方にひどい 飢鴨が 起こって， 彼は 食べるにも 困り 始めた．
- それで， その 地方に 住むある 人のところに 身を 寄せたところ， その 人は 彼を 畑にやって 豚の 世話をさせた．

- And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
- And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
- I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
- And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
- And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

- 彼は 豚の 食べるいなご 豆を 食べてでも 腹を 滿たしたかったが， 食べ 物をくれる 人はだれもいなかった．
- そこで， 彼は 我に 返って 言った． 『父のところでは， あんなに 大勢の 雇い 人に， 有り 余るほど パン があるのに， わたしはここで 飢え 死にしそうだ．
- ここをたち， 父のところに 行って 言おう． 「お 父さん， わたしは 天に 對しても， またお 父さんに 對しても 罪を 犯しました．
- もう 息子と 呼ばれる 資格はありません． 雇い 人の 一人にしてください 」と． 』
- そして， 彼はそこをたち， 父親のもとに 行った． ところが， まだ 遠く 離れていたのに， 父親は 息子を 見つけて， 憐れに 思い， 走り 寄って 首を 抱き， 接吻した．

- And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
- But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
- And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
- For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
- Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

- 息子は 言った． 『お 父さん， わたしは 天に 對しても， またお 父さんに 對しても 罪を 犯しました． もう 息子と 呼ばれる 資格はありません． 』
- しかし， 父親は 僕たちに 言った． 『急いでいちばん 良い 服を 持って 來て， この 子に 着せ， 手に 指輪をはめてやり， 足に 履物を 履かせなさい．
- それから， 肥えた 子牛を 連れて 來て 屠りなさい． 食べて 祝おう．
- この 息子は， 死んでいたのに 生き 返り， いなくなっていたのに 見つかったからだ． 』そして， 祝宴を 始めた．
- ところで， 兄の 方は 畑にいたが， 家の 近くに 來ると， 音樂や 踊りのざわめきが 聞こえてきた．

- And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
- And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
- And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
- And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
- But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

- そこで， 僕の 一人を 呼んで， これはいったい 何事かと 尋ねた．
- 僕は 言った． 『弟さんが 歸って 來られました． 無事な 姿で 迎えたというので， お 父上が 肥えた 子牛を 屠られたのです． 』
- 兄は 怒って 家に 入ろうとはせず， 父親が 出て 來てなだめた．
- しかし， 兄は 父親に 言った． 『このとおり， わたしは 何年もお 父さんに 仕えています． 言いつけに 背いたことは 一度もありません． それなのに， わたしが 友達と 宴會をするために， 子山羊一匹すらくれなかったではありませんか．
- ところが， あなたのあの 息子が， 娼婦どもと 一緖にあなたの 身上を 食いつぶして 歸って 來ると， 肥えた 子牛を 屠っておやりになる． 』

- And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
- It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

- すると， 父親は 言った． 『子よ， お 前はいつもわたしと 一緖にいる． わたしのものは 全部お 前のものだ．
- だが， お 前のあの 弟は 死んでいたのに 生き 返った． いなくなっていたのに 見つかったのだ． 祝宴を 開いて 樂しみ 喜ぶのは 當たり 前ではないか． 』」
