- And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
- And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
- And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
- And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
- And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.

- イエス は エリコ に 入り， 町を 通っておられた．
- そこに ザアカイ という 人がいた． この 人は 徵稅人の 頭で， 金持ちであった．
- イエス がどんな 人か 見ようとしたが， 背が 低かったので， 群衆に 遮られて 見ることができなかった．
- それで， イエス を 見るために， 走って 先回りし， いちじく 桑の 木に 登った． そこを 通り 過ぎようとしておられたからである．
- イエス はその 場所に 來ると， 上を 見上げて 言われた． 「ザアカイ ， 急いで 降りて 來なさい． 今日は， ぜひあなたの 家に 泊まりたい． 」

- And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
- And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
- And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
- And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
- For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

- ザアカイ は 急いで 降りて 來て， 喜んで イエス を 迎えた．
- これを 見た 人たちは 皆つぶやいた． 「あの 人は 罪深い 男のところに 行って 宿をとった． 」
- しかし， ザアカイ は 立ち 上がって， 主に 言った． 「主よ， わたしは 財産の 半分を 貧しい 人¿に 施します． また， だれかから 何かだまし 取っていたら， それを 四倍にして 返します． 」
- イエス は 言われた． 「今日， 救いがこの 家を 訪れた． この 人も アブラハム の 子なのだから．
- 人の 子は， 失われたものを 搜して 救うために 來たのである． 」

- And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
- He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
- And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
- But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
- And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

- 人¿がこれらのことに 聞き 入っているとき， イエス は 更に 一つのたとえを 話された． エルサレム に 近づいておられ， それに， 人¿が 神の 國はすぐにも 現れるものと 思っていたからである．
- イエス は 言われた． 「ある 立派な 家柄の 人が， 王の 位を 受けて 歸るために， 遠い 國へ 旅立つことになった．
- そこで 彼は， 十人の 僕を 呼んで 十 ムナ の 金を 渡し， 『わたしが 歸って 來るまで， これで 商賣をしなさい 』と 言った．
- しかし， 國民は 彼を 憎んでいたので， 後から 使者を 送り， 『我¿はこの 人を 王にいただきたくない 』と 言わせた．
- さて， 彼は 王の 位を 受けて 歸って 來ると， 金を 渡しておいた 僕を 呼んで 來させ， どれだけ 利益を 上げたかを 知ろうとした．

- Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
- And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
- And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
- And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
- And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:

- 最初の 者が 進み 出て， 『御主人樣， あなたの 一 ムナ で 十 ムナ もうけました 』と 言った．
- 主人は 言った． 『良い 僕だ． よくやった． お 前はごく 小さな 事に 忠實だったから， 十の 町の 支配權を 授けよう． 』
- 二番目の 者が 來て， 『御主人樣， あなたの 一 ムナ で 五 ムナ 稼ぎました 』と 言った．
- 主人は， 『お 前は 五つの 町を 治めよ 』と 言った．
- また， ほかの 者が 來て 言った． 『御主人樣， これがあなたの 一 ムナ です． 布に 包んでしまっておきました．

- For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.
- And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
- Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
- And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.
- (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)

- あなたは 預けないものも 取り 立て， 蒔かないものも 刈り 取られる 嚴しい 方なので， 恐ろしかったのです． 』
- 主人は 言った． 『惡い 僕だ． その 言葉のゆえにお 前を 裁こう． わたしが 預けなかったものも 取り 立て， 蒔かなかったものも 刈り 取る 嚴しい 人間だと 知っていたのか．
- ではなぜ， わたしの 金を 銀行に 預けなかったのか． そうしておけば， 歸って 來たとき， 利息付きでそれを 受け 取れたのに． 』
- そして， そばに 立っていた 人¿に 言った． 『その 一 ムナ をこの 男から 取り 上げて， 十 ムナ 持っている 者に 與えよ． 』
- 僕たちが， 『御主人樣， あの 人は 旣に 十 ムナ 持っています 』と 言うと，

- For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
- But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

- 主人は 言った． 『言っておくが， だれでも 持っている 人は， 更に 與えられるが， 持っていない 人は， 持っているものまでも 取り 上げられる．
- ところで， わたしが 王になるのを 望まなかったあの 敵どもを， ここに 引き 出して， わたしの 目の 前で 打ち 殺せ． 』」
