- And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.
- And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
- Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
- And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
- And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.

- イエス はこのように 話してから, 先に 立って 進み, エルサレム に 上って 行かれた.
- そして, 「オリ ― ブ 畑 」と 呼ばれる 山のふもとにある ベトファゲ と ベタニア に 近づいたとき, 二人の 弟子を 使いに 出そうとして,
- 言われた. 「向こうの 村へ 行きなさい. そこに 入ると, まだだれも 乘ったことのない 子ろばのつないであるのが 見つかる. それをほどいて, 引いて 來なさい.
- もし, だれかが, 『なぜほどくのか 』と 尋ねたら, 『主がお 入り 用なのです 』と 言いなさい. 」
- 使いに 出された 者たちが 出かけて 行くと, 言われたとおりであった.

- And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?
- And they said, The Lord hath need of him.
- And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
- And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
- And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

- ろばの 子をほどいていると, その 持ち 主たちが, 「なぜ, 子ろばをほどくのか 」と 言った.
- 二人は, 「主がお 入り 用なのです 」と 言った.
- そして, 子ろばを イエス のところに 引いて 來て, その 上に 自分の 服をかけ, イエス をお 乘せした.
- イエス が 進んで 行かれると, 人¿は 自分の 服を 道に 敷いた.
- イエス が オリ ― ブ 山の 下り 坂にさしかかられたとき, 弟子の 群れはこぞって, 自分の 見たあらゆる 奇跡のことで 喜び, 聲高らかに 神を 贊美し 始めた.

- Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
- And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
- And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
- And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
- Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

- 「主の 名によって 來られる 方, 王に, /祝福があるように. 天には 平和, /いと 高きところには 榮光. 」
- すると, ファリサイ 派のある 人¿が, 群衆の 中から イエス に 向かって, 「先生, お 弟子たちを 叱ってください 」と 言った.
- イエス はお 答えになった. 「言っておくが, もしこの 人たちが 默れば, 石が 叫びだす. 」
- エルサレム に 近づき, 都が 見えたとき, イエス はその 都のために 泣いて,
- 言われた. 「もしこの 日に, お 前も 平和への 道をわきまえていたなら ……. しかし 今は, それがお 前には 見えない.

- For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
- And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
- And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
- Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
- And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,

- やがて 時が 來て, 敵が 周りに 堡壘を 築き, お 前を 取り 卷いて 四方から 攻め 寄せ,
- お 前とそこにいるお 前の 子らを 地にたたきつけ, お 前の 中の 石を 殘らず 崩してしまうだろう. それは, 神の 訪れてくださる 時をわきまえなかったからである. 」
- それから, イエス は 神殿の 境內に 入り, そこで 商賣をしていた 人¿を 追い 出し 始めて,
- 彼らに 言われた. 「こう 書いてある. 『わたしの 家は, 祈りの 家でなければならない. 』/ところが, あなたたちはそれを 强盜の 巢にした. 」
- 每日, イエス は 境內で 敎えておられた. 祭司長, 律法學者, 民の 指導者たちは, イエス を 殺そうと 謀ったが,

- And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

- どうすることもできなかった. 民衆が 皆, 夢中になって イエス の 話に 聞き 入っていたからである.
