- But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
- For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
- For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
- They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.

- 【贊歌． アサフ の 詩． 】神は イスラエル に 對して ／心の 淸い 人に 對して， 惠み 深い．
- それなのにわたしは， あやうく 足を 滑らせ ／一步一步を 踏み 誤りそうになっていた．
- 神に 逆らう 者の 安泰を 見て ／わたしは 梶る 者をうらやんだ．
- 死ぬまで 彼らは 苦しみを 知らず ／からだも 肥えている．
- だれにもある 勞苦すら 彼らにはない． だれもがかかる 病も 彼らには 觸れない．

- Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
- Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
- They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
- They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
- Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

- 傲慢は 首飾りとなり ／不法は 衣となって 彼らを 包む．
- 目は 脂肪の 中から 見まわし ／心には 惡だくみが 溢れる．
- 彼らは 侮り， 災いをもたらそうと 定め ／高く 構え， 暴力を 振るおうと 定める．
- 口を 天に 置き ／舌は 地を 行く．
- （民がここに 戾っても ／水を 見つけることはできないであろう． ）

- And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
- Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.
- Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.
- For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

- そして 彼らは 言う． 「神が 何を 知っていようか． いと 高き 神にどのような 知識があろうか． 」
- 見よ， これが 神に 逆らう 者． とこしえに 安穩で， 財をなしていく．
- わたしは 心を 淸く 保ち ／手を 洗って 潔白を 示したが， むなしかった．
- 日ごと， わたしは 病に 打たれ ／朝ごとに 懲らしめを 受ける．
